Analogy - “'I say that my generation has been autistic,' he told me. 'An autistic child is locked into themselves, they cannot get out and the outer world cannot get in. They cannot receive affection, cannot give affection.'" This creates the author's logos to give a detailed description of how humans have become apathetic to nature by comparing autism and our treatment to nature.

Simile - “Like adolescents staking out their own place in the world, we asserted our independence
from nature and the greater family of life.” This quote creates logos because of the understanding of one’s mindset to have a lifestyle that negatively affects our environment.

Hyperbole - "Either we develop a more heart-full relationship with the Earth that sustains us, or we destroy ourselves and life on the planet." The strategy used it a hyperbole. He's exaggerating to make his statement more powerful, to make his audience want to make a change.

Personification - “But if religion provided the outline for the story, science wrote it large, developing mind-boggling mystery of the natural world.” This statement is logos because is puts in into perspective how powerful science and religion are as he mentions throughout the article that those two forces will be what save us and the world from ourselves as we continue our struggle for survival
