         <description><![CDATA[<div>Thomas Woodrow Wilson was part of the Treaty of Versailles and used the "Fourteen Points" to negotiate it. Credited with having created the League of Nations. Initially tried to keep the US out of the war, but relented after the Germanic U-boat campaign disaster.<br><br>Economy: while inflation occurred as it does in many wartime situations, America's economy suffered harshly from debt. While war efforts helped mobilize the economy, the US still struggled funding.<br><br>Alliances: part of the Allies, with Great Britain and other parts of Europe.  We stuck with our "friends" of sorts, long time allies in past situations.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>David Lloyd George was the main leading power in Great Britain, and he came into power before Horatio Herbert Kitchener and Winston Churchill, both significant contributors to the war.<br><br>All three supported and mobilized forces for the war effort and attempted to prepare the economy for the upcoming fighting.<br><br>Economy: while issues with labor supply, Britain did well during the war for the natural resources and need for these by other countries.<br><br>Alliance: part of the Allies with America and other parts of Europe.</div>]]></description>

He represented his country at the Versailles Peace Settlement and resigned in 1919.<br><br>Economy: Inflation occurs in 1919, but economic crisis began in 1920 and 1921. Recovering in 1922 with an increase in the production and consumption of energy.<br><br>Alliance: Part of the Triple Alliance with Austria-Hungary and Germany was driven by anti-French and anti-Russian idealizations.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Raymond Poincare - French Prime Minister and President, very against Germanic positions. Advocated moving further into Germany. Noted most for his ideals on "Sacred Union", which was the coming together of powers. Highly respected war figure.<br><br>Georges Clemenceau - Did not attend or support the "Sacred Union". Made Prime Minister in 1917. One of the main writers and contributors to the Treaty of Versailles.<br><br>Alliance: Franco-Russian alliance, born of mutual benefits to both parties by way of natural resources, eventually changed to the Entente Cordiale, which was between France and Britain, and was the first step towards and Anglo-French military Alliance. </div>]]></description>

Led the way for Prince Alexander who commanded forces in the first World War.<br><br>Gavrilo Princip - behind the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand in 1914. Considered a national hero in Yugoslavia.<br><br>Economy: Agricultural and export-based economy. Was still recovering from the Balkan Wars, and as a result of the unexpected World War, they began to reach out to the Allies and requested of them to provide Serbia with loans.<br><br>Alliance: </div>]]></description>

He and his entire family were executed in 1918.<br><br>Leon Trotsky - Russian revolutionary who lived abroad for most of the war. Convinced Bolsheviks to revolt in 1917 and became force behind Russia for the Brest-Litovsk Treaty.<br><br>Economy: Was stable and functioning before the war, but utterly collapsed after the mass amount of need and destruction after the war.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Leadership was Kaiser Wilhelm II, who was the last king of Prussia and ascended the German throne in 1888 after influencing the resignation of chancellor Otto von Bismark. He broke alliances with Russia in favor of alliances with Austria-Hungary and Italy.<br><br>Economy: The German Mark became virtually useless after Germany tried to recover from a draining defeat by printing more money. This caused massive inflation of the Mark to occur, and made their money virtually worthless.</div>]]></description>
