When I listen to most of kshmr's songs, I hear a lot of orchestral music  in his productions. He used to mix orchestral music with his EDM. Songs such as "Dharma", "Jungle His Whistle", and his new album "Andromeda" have parallels with Hans' Zimmer-like orchestral music. However, KSHMR has undergone a very different transformation when it comes to his compositions. He is experimenting further with electronic music combined with  orchestral music.

Yanni has been an influence on my life since my childhood. When I was in grade 9 at high school, I had the chance to see one of Yanni's concert videos. That concert completely blew my mind and I got addicted to his music. He was the only musician which I have seen in my life, who blended different music cultures around the world and deliver them as a well developed music piece. He has a great talent in working with synthesizers.

He has been making music for people’s hearts with the addition of electronic feel to his symphonic ideas. I learned alot about world music because of him. The first time I saw a didgeridoo in my life was from the concerts by Yanni. So I used to research about Didgeridoos and finally I made one by my hand for the High School project. Also I saw an Armenian wind Instrument called ‘Duduk’ and that sounded so great. I’ve got interest about all those instruments just because of Yanni. So I felt deep inside my heart ‘this man is amazing’. From that moment I really wanted to make my own compositions like Yanni. I started experimenting a lot about sounds which projects out from Instruments. Also I have learned the most important thing about life from Yanni. He always gives a positive motivative speech once he perform at a concert. Those speeches made myself so confident. Even now I always think positive because of yanni. He inspired me alot. He always said his religion is humanity. After hearing this live at the audience once I went to a real concert I felt the same. I believed on it. This is how Yanni became one of the most lovable influence in my life.

Tash sultana’s performances were so unique once I saw her on you tube. I loved the way she perform because she use lots of techniques to deliver her music as a one band.  There are lots of sound gears like Loop pedals,Synthesizers, Live instruments etc. Each time when I watch her videos, I always tried to figure out how she link all the instruments in a Digital Audio Workstation and programmed them to perform without any other instrumentalists. She use ableton software to do the arrangements. I have seen her as a great instrumentalist, vocalist as well as a great audio engineer. She knows exactly how to do the mix for all of her instruments. I am curious when it comes to her music programming techniques.

I always wanted to learn how she perform with a computer and play all the instruments with looping systems. The quantization of her playings was done while the performance is live. I am so interested to learn how she does those things so confidently.

Tash Sultana was inspired by the music style of Eryka Badu. When she listen to Erica’s songs, She always had a feeling of looping them. 

Sultana responds when asked about her musical influences, "I love Erykah Badu."I'm like laying out all the instruments in the song, like I'd loop it, every time I listen to her music.(Pratt, 2018)

Once I listened to Erykah’s songs I felt the same vibe of Tash. I can hear a similarity with Tash and Erykah. I was able to understand what Tash got from Erykah’s Songs. The rhythm and the groove she makes on her songs always sounds like Erykah's genre. But it’s a kind of a blend with new music styles.

Tash was influenced by Jimi with the way he play the guitar. I assume she learned a lot about playing guitar. Jimi was a great guitarist  During early 90’s. Jimi was a unique guitarist and he had his own style of playing guitar. When I see Tash performing I heard lots of similarities like Jimi’s playings. And obviously Tash is having the same playing style as Jimi. The tones of the guitars sounds so similar as Jimi.

Tash Sultana has a sort of reggae mix. Tash Sultana's 'Jungle' is the same sort of rock mix reggae style. An article in an online magazine stated that Tash was influenced by Bob Marley. Whenever I listened to her music (Boladale, 2017), I felt some sort of reggae rhythm in most of the songs. She's always rhythmic with reggae-like guitar grooves. I think she was also influenced by Bob Marley. 

One of Yanni's influences was Beethoven. Listening to Beethoven's music, I could tell that Yanni was influenced by Beethoven. Yanni has always composed music with symphonic accents. All  his compositions were based on piano and many other symphonic instruments, also he has mixed new electronic synthesizers on his music. He did a lot of experimentation with his own music. You'll hear sounds like Beethoven and modern versions of Yanni's music.

Yanni's second influence was Chopin. I can assure you that Yanni has almost the same technique as Chopin. There is a song called "Until Last Moment" by Yanni, which is very similar to Chopin's "Nocturne". Yanni plays this song "Until The Last Moment "full of emotions and feelings. I feel the same way when I listen to Chopin's music. Yanni said his second influence was Chopin. So it is true.

Yanni was a former band member of the “Chameleon” band. He was the keyboardist on that band

“Yanni played keyboards for the rock and roll band Chameleon, who had made a name for themselves in the two cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Spurred on by their success, Chameleon launched regional tours including Minnesota, Wisconsin, Chicago, Iowa, and Dakota. Yanni is a Rock music lover, he has blended rock music on his creations too, But not with electric guitars. He used to make distorted sounds on synthesizers. The song "Vertigo" has a kind of rock inspiration. He has said Black Sabbath is also a band that he got influenced. But that should be his ealy days. somehow he has a mix of classical and many other musical genres which he got inspired.

Kshmr has a quality of mixing different aged music categories in new age music. I have listened to songs of KSHMR which exaggerate the feel off 90’s.

He always tries to blend completely different music styles with EDM. I heard lots of specific elements of KSHMR with a blend of electronic music. He already has proved that any music genre can be mixed together if the emotions as completely same as what we think. I have hard kind of a similarity with beatles in few of his songs. “World we left behind” is a good example to show what exactly kshmr wanted to express in his creations which was blended with Old Beatles vibe.

KSHMR has been influenced by Ennio again with symphonic elements which has been a unique style for productions by him. When we listen to KSHMR’s songs, most of them have a vibe of orchestral music. His intro music for main stage performances were also similar to Ennio Morricone’s music. KSHMR has an ability of combining all those genres into one and making them sound impressive and epic. That’s what I learnt while comparing the similarities and differences.
