I was taught that capitalism was a negative and positive thing to happen to society because it put the needs of the economy above the individual, but it pushes people to create and constantly evolve. Silvia Federici's story is different because she believes that there is nothing positive about capitalism due to its system depending on the control of women and the enslavement of black and indigenous people. I am not entirely certain that she has convinced me with the alternative story of capitalism, but I will be more clear on how I feel after our class discussion. - Halla Jones
