Then placed the ball of putty in the hot water, the outcome of the putty was extra mushy and seperated. The cold putty wasn't that cold because of the short amount of time it was in the freezer.

The hotplate  temperature was on 5. The putty kind of felt like a marshmallow instead of its original gum state and it broke sort of when it melted into loose prices. When it was cold it was hard and cold but could stretch a bit. It didn't float it slowly moved around at the bottom of the cup.
