This idea was proposed by Henry Clay and was made to provide the nation with economic growth.The system enforced tariffs which caused a rise in revenue and manufactured goods to build roads and canals, created a national bank. It also made internal improvements.

New States(1803-1819) Economic

General Jackson stopped the raiders and chased them into Spanish West Florida. Jackson disobeyed Monroe's orders and started a killing spree. This caused Spain to fear the United states taking over so they surrendered the land.

In the Democratic-Republican party many of the members had different interests and ideas. This caused some of the members to stick with beliefs of the old party while some members took a federalist stance. After the election of 1824 the party had broken up and became two separate parties.

Overall, the Era of Good Feeling was really a good Era because of all the economic and political advances it got. For example, A political advance was the expansion of voting rights which gave all white males the ability to vote, this gives people more representation and increased voting participation among the states. An economic example would be the completion of the Erie canal, this event made transportation and the selling of goods easier increasing the economic exchanges between different countries. Both of these examples show that throughout this Era the United States has improved and became more sufficient economically and politically.
