According to the famous expression “education is a key to success “. Success-a word describing progress, fulfillment, a step towards, betterment and achievement and development. In the human rights declaration of the united nation, “Education” has been declared a basic /fundamental right of every child /every human being. Education is that key which unlocks the doors of unprecedented future. It is a means for individuals to realize their capabilities, their hidden talents and their inner self by knowing their worth and purpose of their existence in the world. Education not only broadens the perspective of an individual and provides him/her a better understanding of things but also becomes a catalyst for the development of individuals as a nation.

The GDE module became a source for me to understand the importance of education that how the difference and similarities in the education system of developed and underdeveloped countries affected their citizens an individuals.

At first the classroom teaching process was a two way process which only influenced the teacher and the learner but now this process has expanded, may be not to its fullest but to an extent where the learner is not only learning about his/her own immediate surrounding but is also learning the values and cultures of other societies around the world. The classroom environment and is now more flexible and conducive to the overall development of a child. In such classroom the child is learning new ideas, and skills needed for the betterment of individuals, societies and as a whole humanity. The world now has become a global village. Everything and everyone is connected, nothing is restricted to a particular place or region.

Therefore, in order to stay connected and united as a human beings, it is necessary to understand and accept one another with all the difference. And it is only possible with the help of education. So, education is the key to success for all human beings as one. To, make the world a better place to live in, education needs to reach every corner across the globe, to help see the silver lining behind the dark and gloomy clouds of ignorance and injustice. The GDE module has provided an insight on how education is a definite way to discover and learn the current crisis or progress in world affairs, through which people of one country learn from another and also develop better understanding knowledge about the world helps to think critically and creatively about climate change, conflicts, crises or any other information and we contemplate on the effects of the decisions taken. Though education, the divided can become united and defeat the dividing.

Q2. How has the module impacted my personal, professional and academic development?

Ans. An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. (Benjamin Franklin)
The G.D.E module is a lifelong process that provides surety of betterment of all human beings through education. Indeed it is an investment which is in the interest of the whole human kind. Education not only makes an individual literate (a person who is able to read and write) but also opens the mind to see the new horizons and to reach the nova of brilliance. It makes the person positive with a new perspective of life and the surrounding environment. It broadens the thinking and understanding ability of an individual by making him optimistic, creative and supportive/understanding of the radical changes occurring in the world.
The study of the G.D.E module has changed the way I think. It has made me more open to see the unseen, think the unthinkable and make possible what is impossible.
Professionally, I think of myself responsible for imparting the right knowledge to my students. I am more prepared as a teacher accepting children coming from different backgrounds, recognizing the deprived ones and helping them physically, mentally and spiritually. I am now more understanding of the mood swings, the tantrums and the outbursts of aggression of students on personal and social levels. I am well equipped to handle the crisis and conflicts of students’ lives.
The positivity and open-minded that I have gained would be transferred to my students. The ability to accept change and be the change would be inculcated in my students.
I myself have become more aware of the requirements of modern world, so it would be my utmost priority to help students in academics to cope with the changing world and at the same time self esteem, and self reliance would be inculcated. As I know how the inequalities and justice is affecting people’s lives. I would make sure to teach which I myself was unaware of, has become clear to me or in other words it has made me understand the purpose of my being. I am now able to hear the true calling which I have been sent into this world. I am a teacher and the sole purpose of my life is t help through education. Education is the key that has become my means of opening the locked minds and hearts of my students.
As a person it has given me the strength for introspection and abilities to teach students to raise voice against the unjust and speak for what’s right.
Human rights are fundamental for all humans, so it is my duty to make my students aware of their basic rights. I would invest in the overall development of my students, and the best interest would be the good and responsible citizens of not only a country but the world.
