One of my penpals, Alexandria, wrote that she goes to school from 8:45 to 3:45 which is very similar to my school where we start school at 8:10 and leave at 3:30. My penpals and I are also very different in our daily life. My other penpal, Elijah, said that the weather in Pennsylvania in the winter can get as low as 0 degrees. One thing that I have never heard of before was Whitney’s Ice Cream and Atomic Coffee. Alexandria said that Whitney’s Ice Cream was her favorite dessert and Atomic Coffee was her favorite coffee shop behind Starbucks. Most of the foods that my penpals like I like too, except for fish. Alexandria wrote about a skyscraper called Willis Towers in Chicago, which she wrote is only a few hours away from her house. She mentioned that Willis Towers is 110 stories and 1,450 feet tall. She also said that she went there once and on the 103 floor there is a sky deck  that can see about 4 states. Ivan also wrote about art and literature, since Ivan is from Italy one of the most common artist is Leonardo De Vince who’s most famous painting is the Mona Lisa. He also wrote about some buildings like the Otranto Cathedral which is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Italy. If I were comparing my art and literature to theirs they would be very different. Ivan said that in his city the citizens like to have events and festivals. They also like to sing and dance to folk music. I think that Alexandria and I have similarities and differences in pop culture. Alexandria said that crocks are popular in Iowa but they are not popular in Texas. She also sad that pop, country, and rap music were popular in her community and I think that it is also popular here. One thing that Alexandria wrote about how blue bunny was created in her state, Iowa. Another thing that she wrote about was how Iowa was established on December 28, 1849 and that her city, Walcott, is a small town with a population of 1,629 as of 2010. Ivan Turi wrote about Fredrick ll, a Roman Emperor, and his ways of ruling. I didn’t have a big opinion on Italy but something that has changed in my thoughts is the food category. I thought that all Italians eat is pizza and pasta but they actually eat most of the same foods I do. 

Are people more similar or different than you expected?

They are definitely more similar then I expected. I thought that we would have nothing in common but it turns out with most of us like the same things. Almost all of us like the same foods and music.
