On March 20, 2020, Susanna Loeb from Education Week wrote about the truth of online learning. In the article, Susanna mentions how students who struggle during in-person school are more likely to struggle online. A study worked on by Susanna's colleagues from Stanford, came to the conclusion that low-performing students did a lot worse during online classes than they did in school. This information is important to my topic because it relates back to the fact that students can't perform as well as they might be able to if they were in school.

According to Headspace, an advantage to face-to-face learning is that at school there are a lot less distractions from their schoolwork. You also have the opportunity to work with other students and communicate with them. This supports that because it's telling you why it's better to have kids in school. The purpose of this information is to inform others of the pros and cons of face-to-face learning.

As of April 8th 2020, Darienn Pitt from the Crimson White, believes that face-to-face learning is better. One reason why he thinks this is because when you are in the familiarity of your own space you tend to get sidetracked. You constantly have distractions all around you and tend to get lazy. He mentions how some classes just can't be taught online, like science where you might need to do a lab to understand what you are learning.

A writer at Open Education Database, Thomas Broderick, believes that online are better rather and in person classes. One reason why he thinks this is because it helps with student flexibility. It can help students do their courses quicker at a faster pace. He also believes that online learning is better because it can lower costs. He says this because when students aren't on campus they don't have to pay for on-campus housing or meals. This information relates to my topic because it's giving understandable reasons why online learning might be better than in-person learning. The purpose of this information is to let others know why this person thinks online learning is better.

On December 19 2019, Sander Tamm from e-student, wrote about 10 disadvantages of online learning. One disadvantage that she said was many people may not be able to afford the type of technology they might need for online learning. Another reason why is because it can cause social isolation worsening students mental health. Her final reason was because it is very hard to prevent students from cheating off of one another or using other resources to cheat on test and quizzes.

This picture is showing a student talking to a administrator about how their upset with their grades, while they are sitting in front of a TV with a bunch of distractions. This relates back to my topic because many people are easily distracted at home by things that they wouldn't be distracted by at school.

Larry Cuban drew this picture for Wordpress on March 21st, 2020. This picture relates to my topic because this picture shows how easy it is for someone to just blow off their schoolwork. A student can just decide to not do schoolwork because they feel like. While if they were in school they would have higher responsibilities for themselves, and their grades. This relates back to my topic because it shows how easy it is for students to just blow off school in a way they couldn't if they were in person.

This picture was drawn by Larry Cuban from Wordpress on March 21st, 2020. It depicts how students may not truly be doing their school work at home. This relate back to online school not being a good option because, the student in this picture is asking if reading text messages counts as reading for the day. The purpose of this information is to show how students may not always be telling the truth about their school work and it's easy for them to fake it when they're not in school.

The purpose of this information is to show others what it's like for students who are missing out on big opportunities in school.

It relates back to my topic because Jacquelyn is talking about the good parts of face-to-face learning. One of the benefits she gave was you get more communication with your peers and teachers or professors. Another benefit she gave was you have a set-schedule and time frame of when everything needs to be done so you can't as easily procrastinate.
