In your groups, using only 5 notes of the pentatonic scale (C, D, E, G, A), improvise and come up with a 4-bar melody to end of each phrase of the song.

Guiding Steps:

1. Using the boomwhackers, improvise a 4-bar melody.

2. Notate your group's improvisation on Google Song Maker

3. Go to https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker

4. Make sure you only change the following settings: "Split beats into 1". Press the "tick" button.

5. Notate your group's improvisation.

6. When completed, press "Save" button.

7. Copy the link and paste it in a new post with Group members' names in the section "Share your improvisations"

Guiding Steps:

1. Learn the 4-bar melody that another group has created

2. Your group will need to perform the piece.

3. The bordun and the improvised melodies should be played on the boomwhackers.

4. The other phrases should be sung.

Individual students create their own improvisations and notate on Song Maker, group choose one to perform.
