- Shelter has to euthanize many animals because of lack of space.
- There are different ways of helping street animals.
- Feeding could be a bad thing if you look at it negatively.

2. Make posters to publicize and make others aware of this issue in our community.

Form-
The street animals look very frail and dirty. There are pieces of mud and dirt all over them. They are much skinnier than the house cats.
Function-
They rummage in trash cans. They suffer from cold and starvation. In one of the rainy days, a trash can can be a shelter to street animals. The braver ones would try to ask food from the humans around. They try very hard to protect their loved ones. They hiss, growl and fight for their territory. This world is not only our home, it is their home too. All they do was to survive through this scary, unfamiliar world.
Causation-
There is no law in China that restraints people who abandon their pets. Also, some owners are not responsible for their pets and don't care what happens to them. Also, the street cats and dogs would have kids. A cat would have 3-4 kids in each litter!
Connection-
Too many street cats and dogs would have negative effects on our ecosystem/environment. Also, it would threaten human health and safety. If street cats and dogs carry a sickness like rabies, then when it scratches or bites you, then you might get infected by the sickness the street cat/dog carries. If something/someone has rabies, they have almost 100 percent death.

Change- How do others' perspectives of cats and dogs change through time?
Not long before, there were people who tortured dogs and cats. They might kill them or sell them. There are even people who eat cats and dogs! But later, organizations started to help and protect these poor animals. Slowly some people began to say others should adopt pets rather than buy pets.
Responsibility-What are the responsibilities for taking care of street animals in need?
Here are a few ways you can help street animals within your community
1. Raise other's awareness about this problem
2. Adopt pets instead of shopping for pets.
3. Donating things to shelters or making a fundraiser.
4. Volunteering to rescue centers
5. Fostering homeless cats or dogs
When you meet a street cat or dog on the street, they might get aggressive when you are trying to help them. So I say approach the animal with caution.

Street animals live harsh lives on the street, away from the warmth of having a home and an owner who takes care of them. They suffer from hunger, cold, and no security. They rummage through trash cans to cease their starvation, try with all their might to protect their newborn kids, and protect their territory from trespassers. They only want to survive in this world! Almost everywhere, we can see their figure struggling to live. The braver one might ask humans for help, but not everyone wants to. So they might get driven away, tortured, etc. So please help them! The world isn't just ours, and it's theirs too! These poor animals need our compassion and care!

The Milk

One day I went to the basement and I saw a cat under the car and yelling. I went to look and I saw a black cat’s leg trapped in a mouse trap.I let my mom  take the cat to the Pet Hospital. Luckily, the cat survived. We were happy, but when I said I want the cat my mom said I already have a cat. So, we took the cat to our community .

Then every day I feed the cat and I gave the cat a name called Milk. Milk likes to eat fish, so I bought
canned cat food for her. She is very cute and she likes to rub me. I like her too.

She can walk too, but she only have 3 legs . Milk have many friends in the community. I feed her friends too. There was 4 cats. Called Panda, Lily, and Merry.

But good times doesn’t last long. One day I didn’t see Milk so I asked my grandma. My grandma said that last night Milk died because of a car accident. I was very sad and my grandma gave me Milk’s necklace. I cherish that special necklace.

Winter is a life harvester for stray cats. In order to survive, for a little warmth, these little guys tried all kinds of methods.Our own pet cats have warm nests, delicious cat food and cans.

In winter, the death rate of stray cats has reached about 60%, which is relatively high. Only about 40% of cats can survive the cold. That is to say, when winter passes, only four of the ten stray cats can survive. Stray cats are much more resistant than domestic cats, but their health and lives are often threatened by rotten food, dirty drinking water and accidental consumption of poisonous mice.

The survival rate of stray kittens from birth to one month is only 10%, mainly because the mother is malnourished, the milk is insufficient, the mother is unable to feed the kitten due to postpartum syndrome, the mother is in an accident during foraging, bitten to death by other stray cats, frozen to death in winter, etc. The fate of stray cats is quite tragic, and death surrounds them at any time.

It was a harsh winter, but I came over it with my sister the snow melted now it’s time for me to get some food. I jumped on the trash can. I looked inside there was a fish and another cat, came in he yelling at me :“Get off my territory” I growled at him for not wanting to give the fish away then we started a war. Then I got hurt, but at least I won the fish. The next day I had to get more food because my little sister got sick and I do not eat food so that my sister can eat, but she can’t.

I went to cross the dangerous roads then a big truck came. It stop in front of me but I got hit by the car anyway, then I found out I can listen to what they say, now I can listen to what they say is a really good thing for us because when I do tricks, I can get more food. Soon my sister's fever passed, but one day I got trapped in a cage I growled at them, I tried to listen to what they say, but the noise was too loud, I couldn’t hear a thing.

They took me to a place, it had some people who wear white shirts I hissed at them, then my memory got in blanked out!

When I woke up I was in a strange place with my sister but that place seems pretty nice it has food and water and no more cats who wants to steal my food away. In the conversations of the human I understand that we got adopted by a family!And we live happily ever after🐱

Transdiciplinary Theme- Sharing the Planet

Causation- An inquiry into reasons why there are a lot of street animals.

My story is a very sad one. It is called the milk. The cat died in the end, it got killed. This is a real story. My art is about the cat’s wish to be able to have a home.

I noticed that there are a lot of street animals in my neighborhood that are very cold, doesn’t have a home. They get sick too. When I see them I feel very sad. My drawing is about my action of putting cat houses in our neighborhood. This cat in the cat house got adopted in the drawing!
