         <description><![CDATA[<div>The communication style used</div><div>by an individual is principally dependent on parental modelling and requires considered practice to change</div><div>Four main styles of verbal communication include Assertive, Aggressive, Passive &amp; Manipulative.<br>Assertive communication is the most productive style as assertive communicators have their own opinions but respect the opinions of others and are prepared to learn from others.<br>Assertive communication can help you:<br>- improve communication<br>- gain self-confidence<br>- earn respect from others<br>- gain more job satisfaction<br>Although assertive communication maximises the possibility of successful communication, it is important to remember that while one person may use assertive skills, the other person could have very poor interpersonal skills and may, therefore, be unable or unwilling to respond respectfully.<br><br></div>]]></description>
