         <description><![CDATA[<div>One technique I use to reduce cognitive load in teaching online is to maintain consistency between the modules. Using the same format and structure means that students don't  need to work to try to understand the layout, they have seen it before and know how it works. I also try to chunk information to try not to overload the learners, focusing on a minimal number of concepts for students.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>These are very interesting principles&nbsp; for online learning design. While I am in workplace training, I realise that a lot of hastily built content that is mostly text. We have a large number of staff with very limited literacy skills and I think &nbsp;the redundancy principle may apply. I am aware though in an organisation where we have staff who can hardly read and write  and others who have doctorates, it is hard to strike a balance when designing universal courses.</div>]]></description>

This coherence principle states that students’ extraneous load can be reduced when unnecessary graphics, text and audio is excluded from learning materials. I will definitely use the idea of highlighting or having arrows point to the most important parts. I also had not considered the placement of graphics close to captions, so I will ensure I keep this in ming when creating my daily google slides and the students weekly online learning schedules for the week. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>There were plenty of strategies presented in the presentation above however the ones I would consider as a start would be coherence principle and signaling principles. To start with, coherence principle is essential to reduce cognitive overload. Strategies I would use include evaluating the the importance of specific aspects such as images, text or sound to the learning content. This would help me identify unnecessary content and assist me reduce cognitive overload dur to high intensity of unnecessary input. Second, I find highlighting important information or giving cues an important aspect of guiding student through the content and assisting them with their learning. Strategies such as highlighting text with the important part ensure students are focusing in the target and important part of content.</div>]]></description>
