Some believe that it is not fair these artists are using parts of different songs, combine them, and then call the ending product their own without giving credit to the original artist(s). Others believe these artists are using their creativity to rearrange parts of different songs to come up with a song that sounds different from the original. In the documentary, a question that was asked was "Doesn't [copyright] limit [the artists] creativity?". The answer was "You can't argue your creativity when you are using other peoples work. 

I think remixing does show a persons creativity because although they are using parts from different songs, they are rearranging it to what they believe sounds best. With that being said though, I personally, I like remixes in which the original song isn't altered to the point where it's unrecognizable, but it has to be remixed in a right way.  Although there are some songs that have been remixed that should not have been, there are also remixes of some songs that have actually made it better than the original.     

Despite that, I think it's also important we remember that a lot of the songs we love are sampled from other songs. Now while some artists may just completely take that sample and just write a new song over it others take it and change the surrounding sounds of the sample to make it sound slightly different.  One thing that I found interesting while going over this module is how many times my dad has told me "that song sounds like this other song from when I was younger." Today, I am starting to realize that more and more. I'll listen to a song a think to myself "Where have I heard this before?" Ideas do stem from other ideas, but it really is up to the artist to make it theirs.
