Resilience is the capability to cope in spite of setbacks, obstacles, issues and limited resources. Resilience is a measure of your determination and how much you want something and how far you're willing to overcome the setbacks to get it. This is your emotional strength. You show your resilience by showing your strength to overcome things no matter the situation. Resilience is a powerful trait to have.

I think resilience is the ability to continue on, even through the rough times. There are many situations or other things in our day to day lives that can distract us from doing what we need to do. In the college setting, there are many opportunities to get involved with-- clubs, internships, jobs, etc.-- and it can be difficult to focus on education. However, we can show resilience by managing our time wisely and not allowing all of the distractions to draw our attention.

My idea of resilience is coming back from something that temporarily brought you down. Whether that be something dealing with school, something dealing with sports or just life in general. Having resilience is having the ability to know that there can always be a positive outlook on a situation. It is also knowing that you can come back from a difficult situation and be even better than what you were before. It is not only knowing this, but taking action to the thought. It can help me here at NCWC because I remember that regardless of what trial comes I will be able to come back out on top of it in the end. The difficult times do not last forever and I will be able to overcome whatever difficulty I am facing. This can be related to a variety of things that I need resilience for at NCWC.

Resilience is the determination to keep going in spite of setbacks. I am almost 30 years old and I am determined to get my bachelors degree so that I can find a good job to support me and my son. I've not done things in the conventional way, but I have the resilience/determination to do the best I can. Resilience is about making choices that will keep moving forward. The enrollment staff at NCWC really helped me make my decision to get my degree and they supported and helped me get everything in place to make that happen!

Resilience to me is being able to come back from a rough, difficult obstacle or issue. We all have obstacles that we have to overcome on a daily basis. It is how we react and take care of those problems. It depends on really if you want to overcome it or not. You get what you earn. So, if you put forth the effort then you will receive it. I think that resilience can help me at NCWC with knowing that I can always make it through my obstacles. Yes, it maybe hard at times but I can change it. I can make sure that I out as much effort into it as possible. An example could be me not doing well on my first test. Would I want to give up? No, I would want to find other ways to study and prepare myself for next time! You always can improve certain areas to help yourself with obstacles.

Resilience I’m my opinion is the idea of being able to overcome an “Obstacle” in life, And finding a Way to overcome it through showing passion and determination. I am a student athlete here at Wesleyan university, and having to juggle my time and put in major effort is a very difficult thing to do especially when I have always had difficulty with my time management. I have had to show resilience to be able to accomplish all that I have in track as well as keeping the grades I need to maintain a spot on the presidents list. I have learned to reach deeply within to bring out my confidence to handle such tough tasks and be able to fight to keep my grades and athletic ability up even when I feel as if I should quit.

To me resilience is the ability to overcome whatever adversity you might face throughout your life. it means that you are able to keep pushing on when you experience difficult times and you don't let those difficulties effect the effort that you put in to you work. in school, resilience is an incredibly important trait to have. Many times you will be overwhelmed with you academics, you social life, your mental health. Being resilient can help you to find a balance between all the different aspects of your life that can stress you out. you have to be strong, and stay strong during the difficult times you will inevitably face because that
how you will make it through them.

For me resilience is the ability to comeback stronger after a set back and how to cope and deal with obstacles. In the past I have had to be resilient after the passing of family members and had to stay mentally and physically strong so that my younger siblings know that "this too shall pass" and with a strong will and strong mind you can over come setbacks. I have the strong mentality that everything that is meant to be works out in the end and being resilient helps back up that mentality because as long as you have a positive mindset and get back on your feet quickly, the only thing standing in your way is yourself.

Resilience is the ability to rise above tough times. In life, school, work, etc., things get tough and its all about whether you fold under the pressure or you rise above the pressure and push forward. I have had many setbacks especially in the past 2-3 weeks, not only with school but even in life. It is hard to push through it but it is best to take it day by day. In my classes I am having a hard time staying ahead with a full school schedule and a full time job on top of things going on in my personal life. But I keep trying and making the effort to keep progressing.

To me, resilience means always continuing forward despite whatever is thrown your way or despite what you go through. It means never letting failure or a challenge demoralize you. Having a thick skin. Never throwing your hands up in defeat. It can apply to many aspects of life, including being a student. Being resilient and never letting a bad grade be the end of you. Always trying to push onward and plan to do better the next time.

Resilience is bouncing back after having a set back and being stronger than you were before. Its also about pushing through when life inst going your way. This time in my life there are many things that can hold me back from doing what I am here to do. In those cases I just have to look pass all the issues and focus on what I need to do and bounce back from the hard times. College can make you want to quit and just give up when your grades are not going your way but you must be resilient and just get up and keeping moving forward. There is always a way to press on, even if it takes people longer there is always a way.
