I am Felrose M. Maano, a 19-year-old second-year student currently pursuing a Bachelor of Industrial Technology with a specialization in Drafting Technology at Cebu Technological University, Tuburan Campus. My academic journey is rooted in my passion for creativity and technical precision, which aligns with my chosen field of study. Beyond academics, I dedicate much of my time to hobbies that revolve around crafts, visual arts, and vocal arts. These activities serve as my creative outlets and emotional refuge, allowing me to express myself freely, especially during times when I feel down or frustrated. Engaging in these hobbies is not only therapeutic but also rewarding. Crafting, in particular, brings a sense of accomplishment as I transform ideas into tangible creations that reflect my hard work and creativity. What makes it even more fulfilling is the opportunity to earn from my crafts, turning my passion into a productive endeavor. These interests not only enrich my personal growth but also enhance my skills, which I believe are valuable in my journey as a Drafting Technology student. By honing both technical and creative abilities, I strive to build a future where my passions and profession seamlessly complement each other.

What I fear most in life is dying with nothing to my name and leaving behind unresolved issues. The thought of unfinished business and unfulfilled potential haunts me deeply. I also dislike burdening others with my personal problems, so I tend to isolate myself as a way of coping. Unfortunately, this tendency to retreat has created challenges in my relationships, particularly in my current situation. Honestly, it has left me feeling emotionally exhausted and mentally drained. I value independence and have a strong desire to do things my way, but not everyone in my life understands or respects this aspect of me. When people impose their expectations or try to hold me back, I feel suffocated. My way of preserving my mental peace is by distancing myself from such individuals, even if it means cutting them off entirely. At this point, I often feel like I’m teetering on the edge of insanity, grappling with overwhelming emotions and struggles. It’s not easy to navigate life when you feel misunderstood and overwhelmed, but for now, this is the only way I know how to maintain some semblance of control and sanity amidst the chaos.

The drive to earn money and achieve financial stability is the only thing keeping me motivated at this point in my life, largely due to my current situation. Honestly, I’m exhausted from constantly struggling with financial insufficiency—it feels like a relentless cycle of barely scraping by. Growing up in poverty has significantly shaped my desire for financial independence. Throughout my childhood, so many of my needs were dismissed or postponed with the all-too-familiar excuse of “we can’t afford it.” This disparity often felt unfair, especially when I compared my circumstances to those of my older brothers. They grew up in a time when life seemed simpler, where their needs were minimal, and they could make do with what was available. Meanwhile, I’ve felt the pressure of unmet needs and the frustrations of being held back by financial limitations. This ongoing struggle has left me yearning for a life where I don’t have to think twice about affording basic necessities or pursuing my goals. It’s not just about material wealth; it’s about having the freedom to live without constantly worrying about money. Achieving financial stability is not just a goal—it’s a necessity for me to break free from this exhausting cycle.
