The Chinese believe in Di, the god of creation, they believed that Di made China and made people. The Chinese also thought that Di told the emperor what to do and when to do it. Basically the Ancient Chinese believed that Di was the emperor of all gods, so they thought he had the most control of the world, and the other gods. The Ancient Chinese had a symbol of power which was the imperial dragon. They thought that a dragon was powerful, and so they made it their sign of power. Also one emperor had thousands of clay soldiers buried with him when he died.

Everyone was forced under the thoughts of the emperor because the emperor had the most power and therefore could influence people with their thoughts. And since there was so much war going on, people were scared so they believed what they had to, to survive. If you were in a bigger city state, your emperors had more power than other smaller city states, so in bigger city states it could be against the law to believe something else other than what the emperors believed in.

The terra-cotta warriors were buried 2000 years ago in a huge chamber miles under the earth. That was a big surprise to the two farmers that were just trying to find a place to make a well! The terra-cotta army was found buried deep in the earth in 1974. After a couple years of research scientists found out that the terra-cotta warriors were made just for one emperor! All the artists were made by request of the ruthless emperor Qin Shi Huangdi. Another huge achievement that ancient china made was the Great Wall of China, a huge wall that was put in place by the first emperor of ancient china, Qin Shi Huangdi for fear that his country would be invaded. The Great Wall of China is one of the things China is known best for it is about 13,200 miles long!

The forbidden city is a city that no one was allowed to go up until about a couple decades ago. The forbidden city is a huge place. It has a remarkable 9,999 rooms!
