Feminism is about promoting equality between men and women and acknowledging the system. It is about recognizing the misogynistic systems that will favor men over women in the workforce, law and other settings. I am Dominican and in my culture women are seen as child bearing and sexually objectified. Women are not valued for their intelligence and many women in the Dominican Republic do not go to school. Class is also something that affects this because if there is poverty then women will have to take care of the kids do chores and work while the man makes the money. This is seen way too often in the Dominican Republic. I am a feminist and I believe that both women and men are capable and should be taken seriously regardless of the field they are in or the situation that they are in. However it is important to mention that class and race will also impact how women are seen in the society. In general, women deserve to be regarded for their brain just as much as their looks (sexual objectification  is the reason why many women dont get taken seriously) and men deserve to be able to express their emotions more without being judged and any problems such as abuse or rape should be taken seriously for men. ]]> 2020-08-26 12:16:58 UTC https://padlet.com/josorimarte13/6ui7uwpe3d5lqsd8/wish/699594614
