What the British did to do not have general welfare (Blake)

They took advantage of the colonists by making them pay more taxes and the regular people of British did not have to pay that. Also the British did not give the colonists any help they only gave them things that they had to buy and did not give them anything to help them out. Another thing is that the governing body of British was not good and only had one person had power and did not vote on a act just the king did and no one could over come that law just the king. Finally the colonists were mad because they had no general welfare because of all the acts that they had and the British were taking advantage of them by via the acts. All of this made it hard for the colonists to live with these conditions with all the high prices so the independence made it easier to live.

the great depression is a good example because it is the exact opposite of the general welfare of the people. People were sad, and were left alone for 10 years and were affected by this mentally and economically.
