Theme: Power can effect people both negatively and positively effects and too much power can cause someone to become arrogant or prideful but if used responsibly then power can open many doors to do good.

Antonio shows his power by banishing Prospero and his daughter. Antonio used his power negatively to get more power because he wanted more.

Prospero shows his power by enslaving Caliban who tried to assault Miranda. He uses his power to protect his daughter and out of everyone he probably uses his power the best

Perspective

Theme: Limited perspective causes someone to make rushed and foolish decisions, and different experiences and knowledge can affect perspective positively and negatively.

Miranda has a limited perspective which allows her to fall in love with someone even though she has never seen him before she is just basing it off of him being the first boy she has seen for twelve years.

Prospero has a lot of perspective because of his time in Naples and now he has even more because of his time on the island. Unlike those who have only lived in Naples, he has a different perspective because he has lived on an island for twelve years.

Act 2 Theme-Knowledge

People who aren't knowledgeable can be controlled easily by people who use their knowledge to manipulate others.

Evidence: Antonio manipulates Sebastian into assassinating Alonso and Gonzalo; "One stroke/ Shall free thee from the tribute which thou payest,/ And I the King shall love thee" (Shakespeare 2.1.334-336).

Act 3 Theme- Power

Power used for good will eventually be rewarded and power used for evil will eventually be punished.

Evidence: Gonzalo does not hear Ariel's voice because even Ariel can see that he is a good man; "I’ th’ name of something holy, sir, why stand you/ In this strange stare?" (Shakespeare 3.3.114/115).

Alonso, Sebastian, and Antonio are punished by Ariel; "Methought the billows spoke and told me of it;/ The winds did sing it to me, and the thunder,/ That deep and dreadful organ pipe, pronounced/ The name of Prosper" (Shakespeare 3.3.117-120).
