For example, the poaching of a predator will result in an overabundance of prey because there will be less predators to hunt them.  As a result, the amount of vegetation will go down and over time the prey will run out of food and start to die off themselves.  Furthermore, some species are considered keystone species, which are species that have a huge impact on the environment. The elephant, for example, is a keystone species which is responsible for transporting seeds. Find alternative materials to replace animal parts that are being poached like fake fur and ivory alternatives.
2. Damaging or destroying the material the poachers are after, like spray painting elephant tusks so that they are no longer valuable BUT are still functional  for the animal.
3. Better protection for the animals being poached, like volunteers or park rangers that can look for poachers and/or animal tracks.
4. Promoting alternative ways of income using the animals like tours for tourists. if the poachers or people who might get into poaching for the money are shown that they can make money by selling truck rides to see elephants and wild animals in Africa, then they can not only make money by using the animals in a respectful way, but they are also shown that if anything happens to the animals, the tourist business will collapse.
5. Making Ivory not valuable. Many poachers have been killing wild rhinoceros as it is the only way in order to obtain their precious horns. This has been leading to many issues such as extinction. The depletion of one species will also cause an unbalance between the predator and prey population relationships. 

Tourism plays a vital role in Africa.
