In the book the Westing Game, tenants move in to a luxurious hotel that has an unbeatable price. Most are excited and a doctors office and chinese cuisine restaurant open with the owners living whitin the Hotel. Like every hotel,l kids acompany most of the rooms with their parents , therefore implying many of the kids making friends with eachother, what can go wrong? Apparently a lot. Turtle Wexler, one of the kids within the hotel learns the lore behind the Westing house which is clearly visible to everyone from the windows at the hotel. The day she learns of this lore the Westing house smokes up and a person is viewed entering it, after years of it sitting still on the hill. Turtle learns that the lore states that Mr.Westing is rotting away on his very exprensive rug on the floor and since no one has entered no one actually knows. She also learns that Mr. Westing was the man who founded the city and loved to throw parties within it.

On the day of Halloween Turtle Wexler takes a deal to try and stay inside the old house for as long as she can, 2 dollars per minute. Wexler in her witch costume runs in and manages to stay 12 minutes but right when shes starting to write off the lore that she was told, she witnesses Mr. Westings body chillingly and seemingly floating in mid air with what seems like purple smoke all around her. She lets out a yelp and runs out the westing house with a hurry but not before realizing the boxes plenty of fireworks. She doesnt leave empty atleast she won some cash.

The next day Mr. Westings body was recovered and found dead. It was published in the newspaper where his will was written. Coincidentally 16 people including all in the hotel and a few more, like the newspaper man were invited to read his obituary, stated in a letter. When the obituary is revealed, they learn that Mr. Westing was murdered and one person in the room is the culprit, the pair that finds who it is will be granted 10 grand. Everyone is divided into pairs.

They get what clues they can that day and are snowed in. One person briefly writes his will down but eventually she looses it. Everyone then turns on her, thinking she probably did it on purpose but finds it once again. Hold on things are getting more rapid and complicated. A bomb goes off, which harms no one, then the hostess hires an investigator whose voice is one heard before. The snow settles and another bomb is off and the girl who had the will (her name is Sydelle) is taken to the hospital. Then at the hospital 2 anon clues are given. Once again another bomb goes off and this time hurts a woman called Angela. When Turtle visits Angela in the hospital, Sydelle figures out that Angela's the bomber. She was basically trying to cover her tracks and look like a victim.

Another reading of the obituary is held and Anhgela keeps on getting more clues. A big clue is found Sydelle is there by mistake, she was never meant to be chosen by Mr. Westing. Sydelle is still allowed to continue though and Angela and Sydelle find out that all clues come to one word, "America." Another reading is held and it is found out that everyone is wrong and that there are four people who are Mr. Westing, But who could it be

This cover I feel as though represents the book the best because the Westing house has a big lore to it. This lore is that the Westings had an abundance of money, and they founded the city itself. It also stated the The old Westing man was was extravagant and constantly throwing parties and fireworks. I think that this cover explains it very well.

I liked the misterious tone that the book tone to keep you on edge. Whether Mr.Westing was actually alive or dead was very interesting in the beggining.

I dislike that the suspense quickly came to a stop in the beggining we quickly found out that Mr. Westing was indeed dead and the author never went into in depth detail on what happened when Turtle Wexler entered the Westing house.

A lot of the book was pretty interesting. What interested me the most is when they found out that everyone at the hotel was related and when we find out who is the "wrong one" in the hotel.

I think a lot of the connections that I had was with lore. This story sounded similar to old western stories about someone ruling the town, like a sheriff.

Or maybe some greek mythology, how they described Mr. Westing was like a prestigious, important person like how they describe creatues in Greek mythology.

I feel as though I would recommend this to a person who enjoys quick transitions into other problems. A lot of the plot points switch from point to point, so if you want one long story with smaller plot points, I would say this is a story for you.

Like the book, lots of different plot points. This song is still being debated on what message its supposed to be potraying, same with the book with me so many things happened, what the message?
