I hope I am posting to this correctly.
1. As I know we are supposed to be posting learning objectives, by creating language objectives to go with them I can help the ELL's know words or skills they need to participate in the lesson.
2. The language objective needs to be specific to the lesson needs. The goal is help the student fully participate in the lesson and activities. This will aid in their comprehension too.
3. I need to look at specific vocab, concept words they need to participate and do the activities. Might need sentence frames. Make sure to show and model what is expected. Partner sharing before doing work can be beneficial.
I printed the ELL cheatsheet with words to help in writing the objectives to go with listening, speaking, reading and writing. I am anxious to look over some of my lessons and practice writing some language objectives. I like that it is helpful for all students not just ELL's
Cheryl Reuther
