         <description><![CDATA[<div>General Adaptation Syndrome (GAS), is three stages of response to prolonged stress. These stages are: 1) Alarm reaction, 2) Stage of resistance &amp; 3) Stage of exhaustion. Selye's model states that resistance falls below normal during the start of the alarm reaction to stress. As body resources are mobilized, resistance heightens again, and remains high during the stage of resistance. Resistance lowers again when the stage of exhaustion is reached. </div>]]></description>
