The Christians attempted to take control of the Land because it is where Jesus Lived and they also in their eyes called it 'The Holy Land'. Whilst all that was going on the Muslims also wanted to claim the land because it is where the prophet Muhammad rose to heaven. Pilgrims also happen from Muslim countries who go to pray there. As if it couldn't get any more crowded the Jews decided hey this is our land so also joined the fight. The Jews wanted to reclaim the land because it is the very land where the holy temple which was built by King David himself. For centuries and centuries it was the very center of Jewish worship. Saladin, was the first sultan of Egypt and Syria and the founder of the Ayyubid dynasty. He conquered lots and lots of of huge ares in the crusader kingdom.

Richard the first was King of England from 6 July 1189 until his death. He also ruled as Duke of Normandy, Aquitaine and Gascony, Lord of Cyprus, Count of Poitiers, Anjou, Maine, and Nantes, and Overlord of Brittany at various times during the same period

  • Another reason is the people wanted their sins to be forgiven, to go to heaven or to take back goods from the Holy Lands 
  • The third reason why they went on crusade is because they had committed a crime and were forced by the church to go on a crusade.
  •  The fourth reason is some people just went on Crusades for fun.
  •  Taking back Jerusalem was the main reason why Crusades occurred.

    Where as some religions chose to use bow and arrows and played a more further battle rather than getting really close and realizing they are only going to chop your head off if you step any closer.     As you can see here different types or armies for example one religion may go with a strategy of using shields and swords with heavy Armour. They often got really hot and sweaty dew to all the heavy chain mail Armour and walking miles on end in the middle of the dessert! 'This want such a great idea was it Siar?'
