         <description><![CDATA[<div>The <strong><em>Athenians </em></strong>were a democracy. &nbsp; Also there was the council of 50. The council of 500 was a group of 500 30 year old citizens. They met every day. Each year, the names of all <br><br><strong><em>Spartans</em></strong> were a first an oligarchy. But, later on became the council of elders. The council of elders were at least 60 years of age this including 2 kings. They made all the important governing decisions</div>]]></description>

Athens had coins, and a huge market place called Agora, it was a lot like a farmers market <br><br><strong><em>Sparta</em></strong> couldn't be the same without helots. Helots were the slaves of Sparta they did farming while the Spartans were either training for war or at war</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>People in <strong><em>Athens</em></strong> believed that producing good citizens was the main purpose of education.  Boys were taught at home by there mom or a male slave until the age of 6 or 7. Most girls did not learn to read or wright they stayed at home and did house work<br><br>In <strong><em>Sparta</em></strong> the purpose of education was to make capable men and women who could fight to protect the city-state. From the age of 7, all Spartan children trained for battle. </div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In<strong><em> Athens</em></strong> women and slaves were not permitted citizenship. Women could not vote or inherit much property and did house work. The jobs slaves had were 1, households and taught Athenian children. 2, trained as artisans. 3, worked on farms or in factories. 4, worked for the city as clerks. 5, worked in the silver mines.<br><br>Spartan women were given some military training and had control over there own love life. Slaves also had control over there love life. They could also buy sell there share of there farming and buy there own freedom</div>]]></description>
