I started by completing Task 1A, where I produced a Mindmap of the various ideas I could choose for Unit 8. I did this by hand and have a physical copy of it to put into a folder at the end of the unit.  Those ideas ranged from, video, magazine, awareness campaign, short film etc. I ended up going with the creation of a music magazine.
I then completed Task 1B, where from the basis of my idea, I created a moodboard illustrating the look and feel of my magazine, that can be found below.

I have spent the last few lessons developing an idea for my Final Major Project. The mind map I produced gave me a chance to map out themes, formats and ideas to base my Final major Project on. After constructing a Moodboard I soon realised I wanted to write and construct my music magazine idea. 
Once I'd decided on what I wanted to do, I created a presentation as visual representation of my idea.
Today I completed my Project Proposal and pitched my idea to my tutor, who is pleased for me to go ahead with the Music Magazine concept. I am naming the magazine 'Amped'. Since I am working on this project individually, my main role is the news and features editor.

Today I worked more on my Research Analysis Summary and then completed the Existing Professional Practice and Job roles document. In this document I discussed the success of three popular journalists, Piers Morgan, Fiona Bruce and Jeremy Clarkson. I also wrote about what is typically expected from a magazine of newspaper editors point of view. I ensured that I Harvard referenced all pages that gave me significant and useful information.

Today we visited Chelmsford's uni campus so, nothing productive towards my FMP was completed since I wasn't in college.
We spent the day at Chelmsford University learning about Student finance, budgeting, and why you should carry on with further education. I found the trip very beneficial, as the information I was given has completely swayed my opinion on university, and I am now considering attending university to achieve my degree after this course.

Today I worked more on a rough layout and design for my online music publication on Word. I experimented with text, images, colour and page placement, however I still didn't get around to properly working on my written content, I expect to be working on that next week. 
Where I previously said that I was going to edit my online music magazine using an online magazine editor provided by NME, well after being introduced to Adobe In-Design (which I didn't existed beforehand) I am now using that instead; especially since it is a professional software which accomplished publications use.

Today I fully began pre-production, I drafted all double page spread articles and gathered some images and references I can use for the final page layout. 
We also had an In-design tutorial from one of the tutors, which is a professional publication editing software used by Journalism industry. This is the software I am using to design my music magazine.

Today I drafted all 3/4 music related articles, to a point where I don't really need to edit some of them any further apart from the odd typo or incorrect piece of information. After that I can implement them into In-Design. Saying that, I am yet to fully polish the "essential latest releases" since I only have about 100 words so far (aiming for 400).
