         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Science/Media</strong><br>Students explore coding using Hour of Code. They will then use this to collaboratively construct and program Lego We Do and Dash robot.<br><br><strong>Music</strong><br> - Recall the elements of music (tempo, dynamics, texture, etc).<br> - Next, students will become "listening detectives" as they hear Saint Saëns, “Danse Macabre” (Dance of Death) and fill out a graphic organizer.  Students are responding to the music by creating their own story that connects to the music. <br><br><strong>Art</strong><br>-learn about the Mexican tradition of Day of the Dead.  Understanding that masks and skeletons are a visual component of the celebration.<br>-students will work together to create individual plaster masks of their faces. Once dry, students will paint their masks using inspiration from Mexican masks.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Media:</strong><br>Students will explore the Olympic website to learn about the different sports played, their origin, and when first added to the Olympics.<br><a href="https://www.olympic.org/sports">https://www.olympic.org/sports</a><br><br><strong>ART</strong>:<br>Students will learn about Olympic medals.  Students will create their own Olympic Metal Sculpture.<br><br><strong>MUSIC: <br></strong>Students will learn about the American composer, John Williams, and his "Olympic Fanfare". Students will create a class wordle on how the music makes them feel.  <br><br><strong>PE: </strong>Students will compete in various track and field events found in the Olympics<br><br><strong>SCIENCE:</strong><br>Students will look at different QR codes around the room to pull up videos on how to make different paper airplanes.  At the end they will test which planes fly the farthest.</div>]]></description>
