Blended learning is ideal for targeted small group learning. Differentiation
occurs throughout the day in both ELA and Math rotations. The high quality programs we utilize insure students are engaged and challenged. There are multiple opportunities for reteach and intervention. Students love gameified software that promotes leveling up in their learning!
Kelli Yale
First Grade

I have been teaching Elementary School for 21 years. I cannot emphasize enough how much Blended learning has improved my teaching and students learning. In small groups I get to know the students so much better. We review the data from the technology part every Friday and students can see their successes and areas where they can improve. I teach 3rd grade with a range of reading and math skills from kindergarten up through sixth grade. I can help those students who need help with phonics and also challenged those students who work above grade level. The students really love the small groups and working together collaboratively.
With blended learning, I feel that I am truly providing an environment where students have a voice in their learning. Students are able to acknowledge their struggles and are more proud of successes. I can create an atmosphere where students feel their needs are being met, as the teacher is more capable to communicate effectively during instructional time. This empowers students to take ownership of their learning.

With the appropriate tools, planning and delivery, blending learning is teaching/facilitating at its finest. Students receive instruction in various learning modalities via, online instruction, partner or groups work and teacher led instruction. I've taught for several years and I have never seen this much growth and engagement in students with this form of learning. Blended learning is very flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of all of my students.
Ms. Brown~3rd grade

Blended learning has saved me from burning out. I never felt we had the resources to truly differentiate to individual student needs until we began to use more technology. For the past few years, my students with severe disabilities have been actievely engaged and motivated to learn. They have learn self-monitoring skills as they are immediately given a score after each lesson and have to track their individual progress. The academic vocabulary we use on a daily basis is unparalleled to any other SDC teacher I know (even in other states)! Classroom management is easier and rotations run more efficiently. Finally, our students are receiving the differentiated instruction they require (and deserve) to meet their individual needs!
- Amanda Kipnis
2-5 mod/severe SDC Teacher
