Most historians believe that the reason Zheng He was exploring because of the glory. He wanted to spread the word of his country and bring more good to it. He was building relations with other emperors for his own to bring in more business and respect for his country. They tried to show off the wealth and power of china and how great it would be to have them as an allie.

The positive was the connections and the ability to get more as he went on his voyages. A negative was that they had fought people like pirates that would get in there way while going around. They also had many soldiers on the ship that could go and colonize which wasn’t their goal at the time and could cause more conflicts.

Another reason why Zheng He explored was to trade and get other riches for his country like spices while also making more trades from his own country's luxury goods.

The positives with this is that he was able to bring back more for his country when it came to food and other sorts of things. The negative could’ve been that he would accidentally spread diseases like what was going on in other parts of the world.

One of the negative effects is that he had is that his ship ended up polluting the water and leaving waste in the ocean due to his large amount of people on his ships. This is something that we still struggle with to this day of polluting the ocean and causing damage. This in the long run would kill off creatures in the ocean which the constant pollution to the ocean has been killing off species for years which is very bad for the environment.

Another effect is how many connections grew between China and many other countries that would make their power much higher. China is still one of the top trading countries to this day and many rely on it. This was very positive for the country since it has been around to this day.

The last effect was the wealth and trading routes that increased significantly more. China has many still to this day and their people were able to get luxury goods and different kinds of food from this. This was also positive even though there were some negative side effects. It ultimately brought more things for their people and helped them out more.

In the primary source it was all the places that Zheng He had traveled and how he was able to make so many different connections. It had great effects for China.

On the other hand we have a statue of him in Indonesia which show that his traveling had a great impact not only on his own country, but others. The way it is different however is that the first source has just where he traveled and the second shows what kind of impact he had on other countries, not just where he was going.

He ended up spreading more luxury goods in other countries such as silk and ceramics while also bringing forth more animals and such like giraffes, showing the others the exotic things while also on the lines of birds. They would bring back mostly spices and this was all good until the new emperor. They were still able to trade for those years and bring back new things and other luxury items, but not as much blending could happen as the country closed off its trade except for a few certain places and all other documents of cultural blending have been mostly lost. The emperor hadn’t liked the cultural blending so he stopped it and that was the negative effect of all this. He didn’t want new things into the country because of the fact it disrupted their own culture. This ended up making the forbidden city.

The first example of colonization is how Britain colonized America. They ended up coming for more territory because they knew it was sparsely populated. A lot of europe had also colonized India and Africa later on all for more power and land. What ended up happening every time is more war broke out between the countries, whether it was civil wars or between europe and the colonized place. All ended up gaining their freedom and making a better and more strong way of doing things. It almost always had a positive outcome, but in the end it really comes down to the fact there was war and many deaths caused by it.
