Tuguegarao City is also one of the most vulnerable areas in Cagayan Valley during the wet season as it was known for being a flood-prone area.

The dish is made with with a cracked egg mixed with the simmering beef stock that is poured into a bowl along with a special sauce and a tablespoon-full of chopped onions and vinegar dip.

With that being said, the Pancit Batil-Patong Eating Competition is one of the events made during the Afi Festival. From the name itself, contestants of the competition will compete with each other by eating the pancit fast.

Winners of the competition will receive cash prizes and consolation prizes for the non-winners.

July 2022, when Cagayan Valley had a Dengue outbreak, Tuguegarao City had a share of 300 total number of cases, thus being the highest number affected by the disease. Incidents of drowning are also common especially when a storm surges the city.

Tuguegarao City is prone to flooding incidents that the city is being declared in a state of calamity whenever storm surges hits the country.

According to Capili, majority of the reported cases in the city are dengue and chikungunya which are attributed to lack of drainage systems and flooding in the area. According to Parkinson, poorly drained areas with inadequate sanitation allow an increasing risk to health from various waterborne diseases.

Skin infections are rampant though some still fungal infections with allergies, some mothers are sure that they have acquired the infection because of the dirty water they had contact with.

Lastly and the most common incident are the drownings. According to Capili, a mother revealed where there is an instance that children get wounded ofr nearly drowning in floods as the water level rises up to their ceiling.

    Although there was a significant decrease in air pollution, the problem with waste collection increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic since many people were stranded at home and weren't able to properly dispose of their garbage.

    Though many children have been sighted taking a bath down the river, it is also important to note that people with sensitive skin are the most prone to the infection the bacteria from the basin may cause.
