She is one of the most important Roman martyrs. It is believed that she was born in Rome and she died the 22nd of november in Sicilia (Italy).
The name "Cecilia" was shared by all women of the Roman people known as the Caecilians. Nowadays it is considered that saint Cecilia is the patroness of the blind people.
