based on the types of the tree, forest can be classified into many groups, the example is teak forest, pine forest, bamboo forest, and many more.

teak forest, The Teak forest are often formed naturally due to the monsoon climate which causes periodic forest fires. Teak forests which are quite extensive in Java are concentrated and the largest in the forest areas of Blora, Grobogan, Cepu and Bojonegoro. The example of teak forest is Meranggas Teak Forest in East Java.

pine forest, Pine forest usually form in areas with a cooler climate and low to moderate rainfall, where the soil is well drained and slightly acidic. Pine trees have adapted to these environmental conditions and are able to grow in nutrient-poor soil. They are also tolerant of drought and fire, which are common in the pine forest ecosystem. the example of pine forest is Manggunan Pine Forest in Yogyakarta.

bamboo forest, Bamboo forest are spread naturally in various areas. The majority of bamboo forests are formed naturally due to their rapid growth. the example of bamboo forest is Mligi Bamboo Forest in Mojokerto.

Apart from that, there are many examples of other forests based on the type of tree, for example, fir forests, acacia forests, and others

• Daista Aurora Ilmi
• Qarina Faza Afifa

Mountains are classified into 4 main types; upwarped mountains, volcanic mountains, fault-block mountains, and folded mountains. The first one is upwarped mountains. The mountains of the group range in 1629m to 4400 m. Adirondack mountains ( North America), and Black Hills (USA) are two examples of the group. The Upwarped mountains form caused by when forces inside Earth push up the crust. The next group is volcanic mountains. They range of 2549m to 5426m. Washington’s Mount St Helens (Washington) and Mexico’s Mount Popocateptl (Mexico) belong to this group. The condition is caused by the lava cools and hardens, and forms the cone-shaped mountains we think of as volcanoes. The third one is fault-block mountains. The range of the mountains are 4198m to 4421m. Sierra nevada ( California ) and Teton Range (US) are among the example. They formed by the movement of large crustal blocks along faults formed when tensional forces pull apart the crust. The last one is folded mountains. They can range from 2037m to 2400m. Appalachian Mountains (North America) is one of the example. The condition is the result of two or more of Earth's tectonic plates are pushed together.

(tita and manuel)

Based on the dense of the forests, forests are classified into three groups. The first classification is very dense forest which all the lands are covered by the trees with density range of 70% and above. Amazin Basin in South America belong to this group. The condition is caused by high amount of rainfall and warm temperature. Mod dense forest which all the land are covered by the trees with density of 40-70%, is it the result of the lower amount of rainfall than the very dense one and commonly can be found in India forests. The next one is open forest which all the land are covered by the trees with density between 10-40%. Molai forest in Majuli Island are the example of this group. The result of frequent lowseverity fire controls woody vegetation and prevents tree entry into the midstory

Shefa Calista Putri

Ricky Prima Pantianum
