The Clapper Loader uses a slate to clap or sync the scenes, this is done immediately after the camera is rolling & before the actors start acting out their characters in the scene.

The slate contains the scene number, the number of the take, the roll, the film director’s name, date of filming, filter, FPS, Location (day/night or INT/EXT).

The Director’s job is to set up the visual look, feel & overall image of the film. It is their job to set where the actors are positioned, where the objects are positioned, as well as any other details in the scenes of a film. The film is director’s responsibility & is seen as the leader of the production so they are the main people responsible for the quality of the film.
