I have been blown away by the professionalism and quality of this entire distance learning experience. You are all amazing and we love you all! Dear AATL teachers, staff and personnel

We appreciate all the hard work and efforts you all put in to help give our children a wonderful all rounded experience with strong academics and a good dose of fun. Teachers have done an incredible job with the COVID transition to online learning and everyone at AATL seemed to work in unity to deliver the best possible last couple of months. My children miss seeing in person the teachers, directors, staff and friends at AATL but they know that the teachers, other students and staff feel similarly too. Let’s pray that this crisis goes away soon and that in the fall we start off with another beautiful and strong school year. Thank you so much to everyone for making AATL the best school for my kids! You all really Rock!

To all of the faculty and staff at Academy we can’t thank you enough for everything you do on a normal day but especially everything you have done during the Corona shut down. Our kids, while they miss being at school, are still learning and still engaged!! This is not an easy task you have undertaken and you have done it so well.

Hats off to the tech team who made this as seamless as possible!!! I’ve seen what my friends kids in public school are going through and I’m so thankful for my Academy teachers!!!

We can’t wait to come back in the fall and it will be a fantastic reunion!!!

He learned about several different artists (singer, dancer, writer, painter) this quarter. His favorite was Jackson Pollock. He was educated, an impression was made and he applied it to create something. This is the difference GOOD teachers makes in the life of a child. I'd like to thank all of my teachers for making the, admittedly unique, 2019-2020 school year the best it could've been. Without the understanding and support of all of my teachers, I would not have been able to make the difficult adjustment to E-learning in March. I’ve been blessed to have had a number of incredibly influential teachers during my 14 years at Academy at the Lakes. Each and every one of them has left a lasting impression on my life and I can confidently say that I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
Special thanks to Ms. Nadow and Mrs. Carr who not only put up with me through my most difficult middle school years, but made a conscious effort to lift my spirits when things got tough at home. I will never forget our spontaneous trip to Starbucks. Thank you, Ms. Gates, who always provided me with a creative outlet in her art classes and encouraged me to express myself in other ways as well. Thank you, Mrs. Vreeland, who (alongside Ms. Nadow) is one of the main reasons I pursued a degree in English. Thank you, Mrs. Ivester, my all time favorite teacher, who gave me the brightest start imaginable at AATL, and for staying connected with my family and I throughout all of our years at academy and beyond.
There are truly too many memories to recall in one Teacher Appreciation Week blurb. Whether it be the “Happy Friday” dances we did in Social Studies, or the hidden skeletons in campus windows that scared me throughout the fall; seeing New York City for the first time, or standing over a sink while a teacher (who didn’t even have a class that period) washed the bird droppings out of my hair ... Academy has given me a plethora of memories to reminisce on and so many teachers to be thankful for.

I'd like to thank all the teachers and staff who pushed me out of my comfort zone and exposed my true potential! I definitely wouldn't receive such an experience at any other school, nor would I have learned essential communicative skills such as respecting adults and peers. I am fortunate to have felt comfortable enough to be myself and never stray from my own beliefs. Whenever I faced struggles, teachers always were ready to reach out and help me find my way. Academy also inspired me to be confident in any field of study, regardless of societal prejudices. I am certain I can be successful in any path I chose to take.

You all gave me the necessary foundations to succeed in university and beyond, and I will forever be grateful!

Every teacher I have had in my experience as a Wildcat has been outstanding and caring. In particular, I would like to highlight Ms. Mahoney and Mr. Moore. Both of them have a way of making their content relatable to students and informative, which forming genuine bonds with kids. Their dedication shows how much they truly care about their work and their students! ♥️
