This may be because it is (from my experience) easier to get passionate about something that you're angry about or really want changed. However, I don't think this is the only way.  A lot of people  just have an idea that they want to educate people about, or want to share a personal story. This can also become an idea worth spreading because it lets the audience connect with you, and sometimes that can be more engaging.

Everybody's got some great, spectacular idea in their head that is worth everybody else to hear. Also, everybody's voice should be heard. It could be a problem in the world, a thing that changed there life, or maybe a discovery.
