Syphilis usually starts off with a painless sore on the genitals, rectum, or mouth. In males, the sore which is called the "chancre" usually forms on the penis. In females the chancre may form inside the vagina and go undetected. You may also experience weight and hair loss. </div>]]></description>

Women who give birth to babies with untreated syphilis can lead to the baby being stillborn or death by infection. Babies born with congenital syphilis can have bone damage, severe anemia, and enlarged liver and spleen...etc. Syphilis in babies can take up to 90 days after initial infection to present.</div>]]></description>
