Deutsch: Ich bin nicht gut in Deutschstunde. Ich lerne Deutsch am achtzehn Uhr. Ich lese Kursbuch, 2- Tagesabläufe. Ich lerne das Vokabular; manchmal, die duteschstunde, und tanzen. Tschüss

English: I didn't feel like I was doing very well in the last class so I bought the textbook and spent from 6 o'clock for an hour going through most of the first and second section. I learnt some new vocabulary like: manchmal (sometimes), die deutschstunde (the German class) and tanzen (to dance). I also used some of the activities on Quizlet to revise especially the typing from listening one, I always try and repeat the word out loud to practice my pronunciation. I shall try from now on to do at least 15 mins of Quizlet a day. Bye

Ich faund die BBC Websiete mit Videos auf das Alphabet, die Uhrziet, und der Artikel. Es hat der Komiker Henning Wehn in das Video. Er ist lustig. Ich lerne 'halb sechs' ist 'fünf Uhr drießig'. Die Umlaute ist wichtig - Düsseldorf ist nicht Dusseldorf. Mit der Artikel, der Tau ist nicht das Tau. Tschüss!

In my independent studies I found the German section of the BBC languages website. On it where videos by the German comedian Henning Wehn about learning German. I watched the the videos on the Alphabet, Time and Articles to revise. The videos where funny - given the case that he is a comedian - which made the revision more engaging. I also learnt new things, such as 'halb sechs' means 'half to six (5.30)' not 'half past six'. The importance of using umlauts was also reinforced with the example of removing the 'ü' on Düsseldorf changes the meaning from 'village on the Düssel (a river)' to 'village of wallies'. There was also another example of this with he article where changing the article of 'der Tau' (dew) to 'das Tau' changes the word to rope.
The videos were rather short however with little content, but it did help listening to the occasional phrase he said to get familiar with German and identify words and phrases I have been taught. But next time I'll look for a website with more content to learn from. Bye!

Ich machte Wiederholung Karten. Sie helfen mich lernen die Kasus. Ich lerne Nomanativ, Accusativ, und Dativ. Auch lerne ich Personalpronomen.

As I was having trouble learning the cases for the articles (accusative and dative where the ones I was having problems with) I made version cards to help me remember them. They have questions on both sides - the main part of the question is the answer to the other - so I can use them to quiz myself. I have been using these type of cards for a long time now and they really do help.

I have stuck in on my bookshelf above my desk so it is well visible, so hopefully I will be able to remember them better. I also plan to take it down and use it to quiz myself on the conjugations too.

I like the activities as they are all very varied and there is lots of different topics - some not even in our course so it helps me broaden my German knowledge as well as helping me revise. I use it on my walk to university in the morning so I hopefully get practice at least once every weekday.
