CREDIBILITY AND YOUR PROFESSIONAL FUTURE

Week one:
Whilst looking at the assessments and what we will be studying in the future, first of all made me a little nervous as to start off with it seemed intimidating and full on. Going through the lecture and explaining it all piece by piece made me feel more reassured as I started to get an understanding of what needed to be included in assessment one and how I could better my work to get the better grades. To help better this even further, I plan on looking into the assessment brief even further and exploring more on my personal and professional successes to allow me to have the best chances at getting a good grade in assessment one.

As well as this, looking into my personal successes and reflecting back to semester one allowed me to feel an almost sense of pride. Looking back at the development I had made and being able to reflect upon that allowed me to feel motivated to continue. Naming my personal successes enabled me to reflect upon myself and see what had changed from before. Having the personal successes written down and identified made me feel more confident in my ability to complete assessment one. To further this and allow me to feel even more confident and motivated. I plan to reflect even more on more personal successes and identify even more. This will allow me to have a bigger variety to choose from when selecting which ones I wish to include in my assessment.

Finally, I looked at what professional skills I have so far and how these can help me in my future career. To start off with it was also a little intimidating, as to think of skills that could help me in the future that I already had was very full on. Whilst breaking it down, and looking at what professional skills I already have from my current job, made me realise most professional skills where used in a variety of different jobs, not specific ones. When I broke down and named professional skills I already had, it was easy to relate them to what I would need to do in the future career to be professional. Similarly to personal successes, I plan on looking further into skills I use in my current workplace and relating them back to a future career path. This will allow me to have more skills to select from, and enable me to pick the ones best suited to the career I want in the future.

Week two:
To start off with I looked at the different ways to communicate professionally and why this is im

portant for the future. To start off with, it was a little confusing to understand exactly how to communicate professionally and the best way to come over as a professional. Once I explored more into the ways in which you can communicate professionally It was nowhere near as difficult as at first imagined. Most of the skills needed to be professional in your communication where simple things I already had. One I struggled with however was listening skills. This is something I plan on working on in the future, as to be a successful barrister in the future I need to develop this skill. I will do this by engaging more in lectures and workshops and making myself listen actively to what is being said. Over time I feel this will allow me to gain a better understanding of listening skills and be able to use them in my day-to-day life.

Next I really analysed what my professional skills were and how I needed these skills for a future in the university as well as in my future career. I first started practicing my listening skills as this is something I felt lacked and made me a little anxious as listening is a massive part of university life. I tried thinking of ways I could really enhance this skill to allow me to feel better and more confident in this. After looking at study hubs for some helpful guidance and information I found ways in which I could increase this skill and make me better at listening. I took away from it that in order to listen more effectively and concisely I really needed to hinder how much listening I did in and out of university. I decided to set myself tasks and deadlines to help me increase how well I listen and plan on using these throughout the rest of the time at university to hopefully at the end have the ability to listen effectively.

Lastly, I looked around at different diagrams and ways to explain the Gibbs reflective model so It would stick. While doing so I found loads of different things in which you can remember this.SO I decided that I would try to learn these and use them to update the ILP weekly using the style of Gibbs. This will help me whilst at university as being able to use this reflective way will increase my ability to self reflect.Meaning that when it comes to my assessments I will already be familiar with this type of writing style.

Week three:
Being an open and honest student and employee goes hand and hand with being credible, not being a trustworthy student can create a bad relationship between you and your tutor or boss. Being open and honest means there can be no chance for your integrity to be challenged. This is really important as not being credible can affect you as a student, if your tutor thinks you are not credible this could affect your grades. Knowing these and feeling as though I knew the ways in which being open and honest can create credibility allows me to feel confident in my own abilities and knowing this information now will help me with my future studies at university.

Going against the misconduct results in many punishments, looking into this and being able to identify them has given me a broader understanding and allows me to avoid such situations. If i was to not know about these now, this could really affect me in the future as i could do something I may not have known was misconduct. Having the confidence to have defined these and know exactly how and what to do to avoid them means I can be reassured throughout my time at university and avoid it.

Looking into these misconducts were interesting as you can see the ins and outs of how a business environment operates and how following the rules and not going against them will give you a professional and credible image. Three I chose to look into more detail where cheating, plagiarism and copying someone else's work. Plagiarism is one I have always been working hard to avoid, as whilst being at university I have tried really hard to learn the correct way to Harvard reference and how not doing so can lead to punishment. Something I plan on doing more to avoid any chance of plagiarism is trying even harder to make sure I know how to Harvard reference and make sure I do it correctly.

Week four:
I feel as though motivation is really important in an academic environment, not being motivated is something that can affect your work quality or the way in which you present yourself. Being unmotivated is something previously I had struggled with, as being able to stay motivated whilst being unorganised was difficult and something I could not do well. To stop this, I decided to try and really become more organised in the ways in which I worked so I could feel more confident in myself and work I was putting forward to feel less unmotivated. Becoming more organised by planning on what needed to be done, allowed me to create less room for feeling unmotivated as everything in front of me broke down to allow it to come across as less intimidating.

Throughout my past term at university one of my personal successes was my use of the library. Normally I was not one to use it, but as i found the workload becoming more and home life being busy. I found the library was the perfect place to sit and get work done to the best quality. This not only affected my work quality but also my mental health, as I was able to get work done so it was not piling up making me feel stressed and worried. This was successful, as I used it a lot whilst individually studying, and whenever going into the library I had a to-do list to complete to make sure I was productive whilst in the library instead of sitting there wondering what to do. Using the library is a personal success I am proud of and will continue to take into the future with me.

A professional skill I had to work on was definitely my time management skill, to start off with I could not manage my time and this allowed me to be blocked up with fast coming assignments and made me feel stressed, meaning the work wasn't the best quality i could produce. This made me feel anxious, as I was demotivated and left tasks that were big until the last minute and this reflected on my work. I fixed this by the use of a study hub, they had amazing support as well as timetable format I could use and incorporate. This was effective as I was able to split workloads into smaller chunks to allow me to feel less stressed while looking at them and being able to stick to the time and complete the work. This is something I will be taking in to the rest of my university and work career as it really allowed me to complete work more efficiently and left me feeling less stressed and anxious.

Week five:
Assessment management is something that has always been important to me, this is because not being able to complete assessments to the best of my ability makes me feel anxious and creates a disappointed viewpoint in myself. SO to really stay on top of assessments and being able to utilise assessment briefs is something especially whilst starting university i have really tried to force into myself. I have done this by planning assessments extensively and setting myself time frames to make sure the assessment can be completed for the deadline. Being able to manage assessments and stay on top of them allows you to also become a credible student as meeting a deadline is extremely important to succeed as a credible and professional student. I plan on managing my ability to work effectively in the future as I progress throughout university and also in my future career path.

Being able to do all of these skills are important to have an effective and organised working environment. Being able to prioritise tasks and using time management to be able to get those tasks submitted on time allows you to not just gain the skill but to become a credible learner. This was important for me to gain these skills as it will not only allow me to become a better student it will also allow me to become less anxious and stressed when it comes to deadlines. Having these skills whilst working on a deadline will not only increase your productivity but also will allow the work quality to be greater. I worked on these skills by dividing up what tasks I had to complete and the timeframe I had to complete them, this then allowed me to have a productivity boost as instead of being stressed about the upcoming deadline I had enough time to adapt and change things if needed.

Being clear and concise is something I will need in future assessments and essays. Being able to get points across clearly was at first a little difficult for me and not being able to make me stressed as this would affect my marks. Looking back now, I really used feedback given from tutors and methods learned in workshops to really analyse and focus on what it really was to be clear and be able to communicate properly. After doing multiple assessments I now feel i have a concept on what it is to be clear and concise as well as what it is to really be able to get my points across using effective language that can be interpreted the correct way.

Week six:
This week I have been developing and working on my assessment . This is something that has almost made me feel anxious as with assessment I always want to do the best possible but sometimes that can only get me a certain grade. To enable me to strive further and to expand my possible grade bracket, I used the assessment brief alongside my plan to really make sure I was hitting all of the points and coming across professionally. This assessment was a letter of nomination for the student of the year award, so I really wanted to come across as persuasive and as clear as possible. I feel as though having my plan detailed allowed me to feel more confident in what I was writing as when normally I write I get stuck on certain points and do not know where to go with my writing. Having these points I needed to hit in my plan really allowed me to expand and create a better understanding of what I was writing about.

When receiving feedback, I always like to look at the negative or the ‘try to’ This can really give me an idea of what I need to include to increase my grades even further. Getting formative feedback back always leaves me feeling anxious as I wonder if it was good enough, or what I did or did not include. When getting the work back I really tried to take account exactly what my tutor gave as feedback, as even the small details can lead you to go down a few grades which is not what I wanted to do. Receiving feedback is something that is important for your academic growth as not being able to take in feedback and adapt your work to suit can mean not increasing your grade.

Formatting is something I would not really say I struggled with at university, the standard introduction, body and conclusion was always a concept drilled into me when going through school to now at university. This allowed me to feel confident whilst writing as I knew the formatting and knew how to complete it without stress. Feeling confident in being able to write in the correct format meant that instead of worrying I was able to focus on what I was putting into the work instead of how I was going to format it.

Week seven
Leaders themselves can come in many different variations and each have different influences over different groups of people. Looking at leaders outside of university made me feel a little intimidated as it made me wonder how much of a leader I was and how crucial being a leader was to my future dream job role. Overall, looking at how much of a leader I am and if this a skill I have, made me realise I had a lot of room for development in this skill. Looking at the attributes and what it takes to be a leader, made me feel a little bit better as the attributes for a leader are things I can develop and work on in either my future at university or in my future job role. I feel this sets me up for a good place in the future, as I am now aware of what it takes to possibly gain this skill. If i was to change it, I probably would have started developing this skill faster as it is crucial for my future. I will continue to work on this by concentrating hard on what It takes to be a true leader and working on these throughout my time at university.

Looking at what it takes to make a leader, I decided to pick out the attributes I felt I already had to try and motivate me to progress. This helped me to feel better about the progress I was making as being a leader is very important in my future career path. The one quality I felt I already had was creativity. As a person, I feel like I have been tested throughout on my creativity skills and this really has helped me develop even a small attribute of what it takes to be a leader. I gained this creativity by doing and being successful at many different ART based subjects whilst being at school and college. This really allowed me to develop this skill to a high level and in the future, even though I feel I have this skill I will continue to develop this alongside the other attributes to make my leadership skill even stronger.

Finally, the attribute I chose to develop was my ability to actively listen. This is something I have always been poor at and not having these makes me feel anxious for the future as this is essential in not just making me a good barrister but also making me an active and credible student. The tasks I set myself where to listen more to family members around the house, this started off difficult as I challenged myself to listen at a constant and recite three main points back. I really struggled trying to recite these points back to myself as I could not completely remember all if any at all. After repeating these and trying to remember smaller lumps of information first, it then started to become a little easier and I was starting to remember at least two out of three points. Doing this enabled me to not push myself as hard and to really develop my active listening skill. In the future I will work on the continuation of this skill development and really try to get a greater understanding of what it takes to be an active listener.

Week eight:
The strengths I feel I have really gained whilst at university and my independent studying skills. Having this strength makes me feel confident for my future at university as I feel that throughout university having the skills to individually study will be a massive part of my degree. I have gained and received a greater understanding of this skill by completing this Individual Learning Plan. I feel it has been really beneficial to me to be able to go through what was studied in lectures and workshops and be able to analyse it and then reflect it on myself. In the future I feel I will further use and expand my knowledge of this skill and develop it to an even further extent whilst I continue throughout university.

A weakness I feel I have at university is the ability to fully concentrate, this makes me feel anxious for the future as being able to concentrate in lectures and workshops will be a massive part of my future. To fix and work on this, I have been setting myself time framed jobs to complete. This has already really helped and expanded my ability to concentrate. Having time sectioned off for a certain subject has allowed me to grasp a wider understanding of what concentration is and how I can develop this further. From this, I have learned that being able to concentrate is a crucial aspect to becoming a barrister. In the future I am planning on working hard on this and continuing time framed work to really be able to grasp and gain this skill fully.

Overall, whilst being at university I feel the university can give me many different opportunities. One thing I feel that is most important for my future as a barrister is the qualification needed to be able to qualify for the solicitor examination. This exam is something that even now I feel anxious about and is something I feel is crucial for my future as a barrister. The ways in which I plan on better preparing myself for this is by engaging and really studying hard in the next three years at university. This will not only give me a better understanding of Law as a whole, but will also prepare me for that future exam. Having studied hard and gaining this Law skill will really help me feel more prepared and I myself will be able to feel less anxiety at the thought of this exam.

Week nine:
To start off the week, I really decided to focus and really focus on what it was to be a better student and how to make the most of my time at university. I first looked at what could make me a better student and from the list supplied in the workshop. I decided that my ability to focus fully in class is something I could advance on. Not having this ability to focus makes me anxious as a student, as I could miss key and vital things. I decided the way in which I can improve this is by writing more in class. I feel as though when I am on a laptop I am easily distracted and can't ‘zone out’ more often than if I were to write in a book. I plan on adopting writing in books in the start of my level four to really be able to get the most out of my lectures and workshops.

Being professional is something that is important and has high value to me, this week I really wanted to expand on this by really looking into what makes a professional student. Looking at the article supplied in class I was able to pick out what exactly it was that makes a professional student. This allowed me to feel a little more reassured and confident about what it was to be professional and is now something I can take with me in the continuation of my university experience. Ways in which I plan on developing this, Is by before going into level four saving this article and rereading this so it is fresh to mind what exactly it is to be an effective and professional student.

Lastly, I decided from the list the article supplied I was going to pick out an attribute to work and develop on. Doing so, really allowed me to feel more confident in my ability to become a credible learner by taking initiative and developing my professional attributes. I decided that one I was really going to try and develop upon was my Emotional Integrity. This is a really important one for my future job role as a barrister as being able to adjust your feelings and be able to stay level headed is something crucial. After doing some research and trying to find out what was the best method to really gain and enhance this skill, I decided that seeing how I naturally react to others is something that can help massively. By becoming self aware of how exactly I was reacting to others around me, enabled me to adjust and adapt my own outside feelings. This was challenging at first, as being able to look in from the outside of your own reactions was something I struggled with.Although I would not say the skill is something I have personally developed yet, I feel as though it is something I can adapt in the future to become something I am self consciously aware of. Having this skill and continuing to develop on this will enable me to become a better barrister in the future.

Week ten:
The ways in which I have gained competence In what I need to correctly present myself Is by rereading over the ‘do’s and don'ts’ When it came to how I presented myself. Looking over this allowed me to feel confident as I knew what was acceptable to wear and what was not. I feel this has gained knowledge for even my future career as presenting yourself correctly and professionally is something, as a barrister I will be doing daily. This was helpful and has left me with the competence to present myself the best I can, in the elevated pitch and in the future.

One of the tasks I wanted to work on this week was really analyzing exactly how networking online has become so important. This left me feeling a little anxious, as technology advancements are almost daily in this day and age. Being left behind could mean future points missed or putting me behind someone else who is more up to date. To change this I really analysed and took the key points from each article supplied in the lecture to really try and catch up on why these changes are so important. In doing this, It enabled me to feel more confident in my knowledge, this then cleared my initial anxiety as I now knew the importance and for the future I plan to keep myself as up to date as i possibly can.

Finally, I really wanted to make sure I could feel the most confident in this speech as possible. I firstly felt nervous about the elevator speech, as I am quite nervous and can often stutter or mumble. I decided to set myself some smaller speech tasks, this was to rehearsal and exercise my ability to successfully complete this speech. I first of all started with different mini speeches, whether that was reading off of a page, or speaking freestyle. This created a sense of confidence when it came to my actual speech as I had rehearsed and now the nerves of the speech were almost gone. I will however, continue to do this until it comes time to film my finalised speech as I want to eliminate any chances of stuttering or mumbling.

DEVELOPING A BUSINESS RADAR

Week one
To start off with, I started looking at companies that I knew had some form of law in them, whether that was a solicitor firm or if it was something like a prince's trust. While looking into these organisations I felt a form of anxiety about choosing the right one as this would be the organisation I would be working on for my next two assessments. To stop this anxiety, I looked at ones that were more obvious, although I knew working with a solicitor firm would be harder. I took my time looking at one that was spoken about enough in the media and one that offered a lot of knowledge into the background of the company. Once I found three which included Bindmans, Prince's trust and Taylor Wessing LLP. I decided to look more into each one and what they had to offer. Doing this lessened the anxiety I had as I was able to identify what each one had to offer and how they were different.

Next task was looking at exactly what these organisations had to offer, most of them had similar based ones and looking through the job roles excited me for the future as I was able to see the job roles offered and how exactly these would lead to bigger things. One thing I liked which was different from one was Bindmans offered a program for university leavers which the others didn't. This dragged me to them more as It really is almost personalized to me and what I want to do in the future.

Looking more into what each company made me realize there were multiple reasons to join each company. So the whole situation was almost a little overwhelming. Writing down almost mind maps for each organisation, I liked the work the prince's trust did and what they stood for. Similarly with Bindmans, they are a human rights law firm and human rights are something that interests me and something I could see myself doing in the future.

Week two
Looking at different reliable news sources I allocated and worked on which ones I saw to be the most effective. The first one I chose was the BBC. The BBC itself includes a lot of different articles and you can even select to have only business related ones which I think is very effective when doing research and I think will help me a lot when trying to find news articles for my assessment. The other thing I really liked about BBC is that you can type in names to filter articles about them. This is a fracture I feel I will use when completing my assessment.

Next was the guardian. The Guardian was one I was not completely happy with as I had not had much experience compared to the BBC. However, unlike the BBC the guardian do not have the allocated business section. They have a great range of articles to do with business and law that date further back than others. I found this feature useful when trying to do a more extensive research and trying to use the information to reflect on my decision for which organisation I was going to focus on.

Lastly was Sky, sky is one that normally, i would never read. Sky is one that I would normally find myself watching more than reading. I liked sky as the layout of their page was very clear and I could tell how reliable they were and their information source was very clear and concise and did not have any misleading titles or pages. Sky ended up being one of my favorites to look at and browse for articles. Although it missed some features the others didn't, the perspectives they had in some of their stories were better than the other two.

Week three
The first trend looked at was the growth in technology and how this is effecting most businesses and will increase in the future. This is down to the increase in social media as well as the over increase of technology. People use these a lot more, and companies are having to change and adapt to suit customers needs and be able to keep their companies new and up to date. This could come as a surprise to some companies as the growth in technology will only continue to grow.

Something else looked at is the different payment methods. Before you would either pay in cash or card. Now the world has adapted to support a faster society. This includes companies like Klarna who specialize in pay later or pay in three schemes that allow people to buy products and pay at a later date interest free.

Finally, flexibility in the workplace. This change is highly down to the amount of employees working from home due to COVID 19. The pandemic saw lots of businesses starting to run remotely using resources such as zoom to keep their businesses running. This meant when COVID was over some companies decided this was a cheaper and easier alternative as having people in offices was costing the employer more money than to have them work from home. This is also something that I imagine will grow in the future alongside other trends.

Week four
To start off with, I decided the best way to create a decent plan was to really look into the assessment brief and see exactly what I needed to do. This first of all made me a little nervous, as this was the first assessment of the unit and I really wanted to include everything I needed to include and really do justice to the company. To start off with, I decided to create the timeline, this was something I enjoyed doing as I really wanted the timeline to relate back to the company with the colours and details. I was very proud of the timeline I created, I feel it had sufficient pieces from Bindmans history and highlighted key points as well as looking and related to bindmans. This made me feel a little more confident as I knew I had at least completed one of the larger parts. I then dissected the assessment brief into smaller chunks and highlighted exactly where was going and allowed me to create a basis for my plan.

Next, if I decided to enable my plan to be better, I needed to do some further reading whether that was through news articles or the Bindmans page to make sure I really did justice as to what Bundmans stand for and what they do for work. This was a little overwhelming as the firms themselves do a lot in the human rights sector and I really wanted to bring to life exactly why I chose Bindmas and why I would even like to work therein the future. Whilst looking into their page some more, I discovered more about the career opportunities they offered and these interested me as they had a lot of different opportunities for university leavers that most other firms did not have.

I then took the information from the website and news articles to be able to use the given assessment help to create a firm and effective plan that would enable me to pinpoint where I needed to include certain things. This really helped me to feel less anxious and overwhelmed as I had a strict plan and had everything written out and I could pretty much see the whole format of my fact file. Writing a fact file was a little bit overwhelming as I had not done one before, so after having a rough plan I used the tutor supplied example as well as ones I had found on the internet to make sure I was able to get the correct formatting. This allowed me to create a thorough fact file including information on the organisation and why I wanted to work for them.

Week five

Whilst looking at what Bindmans had to offer, I saw that they had multiple solicitor positions available which interests me as it is something I really want to get into after university and this will help me to be able to have the end goal of being a barrister. Being a barrister for Bindmans is even more important to me, as Bindmans are a human rights firm and human rights are really something that interests me. Bindmans has multiple solicitors based in different sectors and is a great company for clients wanting a variety of specialists as they have multiple.

Next was paralegal, being a paralegal is something that interests me as it is almost a direction to stepping up in the law work. Being a paralegal will enable me to learn these law based skills I will be needing when I graduate university and this will be a perfect position for me to go into and be able to gain confidence and feel more reassured when moving up into a higher position where the pressure and job role responsibilities increases.

The reason I chose Bindmans and really liked their career. Is that they have multiple positions for university leavers which is very rare is law companies as most of the time they require you to do some for of apprenticeship system whereas they take people on as a university leaver and it means that instead of getting paid what most would as a apprentice and instead get rates that are normal working rates. This is something that interests me as law is a hard job sector so to not get paid sufficiently at the start is very un-motivating.

Week six
To start off with I used the given feedback to make changes and adapt my work to suit, the feedback I received back was constructive and helpful and enabled me to get a greater understanding of what I needed to adapt and change to get greater marks. This will allow me to feel confident when submitting my summative as I already know what I need to do to make my work better. Before the summative I worked really hard to make sure I had something to have something to be marked so whilst in class going through the timeline I had submitted as a formative allowed me to feel reassured that the information I had included was substantial. To finalize, I firstly wanted to use studiocity to get feedback on my work, but was very disappointed when I had lost access to it. I was disappointed and did not feel very confident as I usually used studiocity for all the assessment feedback. Instead of this I got my uncle who is a university graduate to triple check my assessment for silly errors or mistakes as well as going through previous essays marked by them to see if i had made any repetitive errors. Doing this enabled me to feel confident whilst handing in my assessment.

Week seven
To start off the week, I decided I was going to really make sure I was confident in these future business trends I had chosen. I felt a little anxious as I really wanted to go for ones that I could see happening in the future for my exact organisation and not ones that were completely irrelevant. Whilst choosing these I decided to find as many articles I could find showing how exactly these changes in the future are going to occur. This in itself set me up for a good start in writing my magazine as when I found an article I found helpful, I saved the title page so I would already have it when it came to referencing. After doing this research and finding these articles It made me feel confident in my ability to start my magazine.

Whilst looking at exactly why businesses could face a crisis, I decided the concept was interesting and further reading could really help me to grasp exactly why. This would allow me at a later point to feel confident when writing what my chosen company needs to do to adapt with the fast changing times. I found multiple articles underlining how different companies can adapt and used a comparison with my company to find out if I could find any similarities between those companies and mine. I found this helped me greatly and allowed me to be more in depth when it came to my reasonings in the article.

Finally, I really wanted to look at exactly what an agile company was and if my chosen organisation, Bindmans was and if it was not how could it adapt and change to become agile. This in itself gave me a really good understanding as to how Bindmans needed to change. I first of all researched exactly what in more depth an agile company was. I then side by side used the qualities of what made an agile company and put it side to side with Bindmans to see how they compared. This allowed me to see how Bindmans had some qualities of an agile company and made me see what and where they could improve to see a better result in the future.

Week eight
To start off my week,I really wanted to see what different variations of articles there were and how I could choose the correct one for this assessment. This made me feel overwhelmed as there seemed to be loads of variations and I was not sure which one to choose. Looking at the one example in the workshop really allowed me to see a vision of what I wanted mine to be. Instead of a boring standard coloured one, I really wanted mine to stand out and be engaging instead of identical to others. Once I had decided what I wanted mine to look like, I created a rough plan writing down where I wanted certain information to go. This allowed me to feel less overwhelmed about what I had to do and allowed me to feel confident in the article format.

Next I decided I wanted to really challenge myself with how far I could push into the grade boundaries. Instead of choosing business future trends that would not relate back into my chosen organisation, I tried to venture out and found ones that would be easily comparable. This made me feel anxious, as Bindmans LLP are different from other companies like Asda or Amazon. It is a lot smaller, and companies under the law sectors can see future business trends in many more ways than these companies would.

Finally, I really wanted to see the extent of just how much things have or are already changing so far. For my last action, I wanted to explore the many different ways currency has or will continue to change and adapt. One of the ones that interested me the most was the use of contactless, and even using your phone to pay instead of a physical card. This makes me feel a little intimidated by these future changes, as soon we will probably be able to access a lot more things on our phones than ever before. The change of how we use phones was fascinating to me, and looking into the ways in which it will change even more, made me feel slightly more intimidated.

Week nine
First off, I decided at the start of the week to look at how job roles can be affected in the future. This made me feel a little overwhelmed as the more research I did the more development I found around artificial intelligence and how it is being used. I feel that doing this research into the change in job roles, really allowed me to widen my knowledge for assessment two. This is as I now feel I am able to point out and advise how exactly Bindmans can change and adapt to these changes of job roles.

Next, I decided to look and evaluate one skill I feel I already have that will help me in my future career. Looking at the tech skills I already have makes me feel confident in my future abilities to work as a barrister at Bindmans LLP. This is as I feel I have worked in multiple places that use similar software as those would in a law firm. This, however, I see as something I will have to keep advancing as the technological improvements adapt and change by the month. So it is something I feel I will have to keep educating myself on to be the best I possibly can at this skill, in the future.

Lastly, I decided to focus on the skills I feel I do not have at this time and would be crucial for a future in me becoming a barrister. This made me feel a little anxious as I had not compared what skills I needed to adapt. The one I chose to adapt and gain was my confidence. A way in which I plan on adapting and changing this is forcing myself into situations I would normally not. Repeatedly doing this in the future will hopefully allow me, if completing group work in university, to allow me to put my best face forward and allow me to develop this skill to its maximum potential.

Week ten
To start the week off, I decided to go through the assessment brief with a fine comb to make sure I had read it properly and would not miss out on any marks. This made me feel reassured and allowed me to feel less anxious about the assessment. As I have been developing my organisation skills, this has really helped me when it came to writing and planning out my assessment. Once I had finished the article. I was able to refer back to my plan and the assessment brief to highlight where I had done certain criterias and where it was lacking in others. This enabled me to feel a lot more confident when handing in my assessment 2.

Next I decided I really wanted to compare my own magazine article to the one example to us. This is as I really wanted to feel confident in the layout and the design I created and not have to worry about if it was not correct. I did this by going page by page, with the example one and made sure whatever was on that one was also included in mine. This enabled me to feel more confident that the formatting was correct and decreased any anxiety I had over it.

Finally, I really wanted to make sure I was referencing Harvard correctly. As in my work I was using multiple different sources from my further reading. TO start off with, I was very nervous about having to use Harvard referencing, but then I remembered to Cite them right, which completely initiated any anxiousness I was experiencing before. The clear to use website that provided me with examples and exercises to complete. This allowed me to feel confident when it came to referencing and having my final assessment in.
