Samuel was an French explorer best known for establishing and governing the settlements of New France and the city of Quebec. The years he was exploring were through 1599- 1603, he began his exploration of north America by traveling along the seacoasts, lakes, and rivers of North America in the early 1600s.His reasoning for exploring was to experience and explore the new found land and establish government settlements . Discovering settlements of the land New France and the city of Quebec is a major aspect of why he is still in remembrance today. Interesting facts that are accustomed to Samuel are that His very first voyage was with his uncle , Saint-Julien, they traveled to Cadiz to transport Spanish Tripp’s and then accompanied a large Spanish fleet. Another marvelous fact of Champlain is that he mapped Lake Champlain; by making good relations with natives who requested him to help them in was against Iroquois ( killed two chiefs with single shot !.)about Samuel is that his wife was 31 years younger than him , totally normal right ?.

He thought that he could achieve this by sailing along the Northern coastline of the New World and that way he would find a passageway to the West Coast of North America.
Verrazzano discovered Florida's tip but made sure to keep his eyes on the prize and turned his ship to head north. He after entered the Bay of New York and landed on the southern tip of Manhattan, a storm pushed him to Newport, Rhode Island. He is known for charting the Atlantic coast of North America between the Carolinas and Newfoundland including New York Harbor ( the Verrazzano-Narrows bridge was named after him)
Facts about Verrazzano:
- he spent his early years as a pirate
- he was eaten by cannibals
- the bridge that is named after him was going to be named after John F.
