Does this feel like an urban or rural walk or both? What elements, visual, sound, smell...give you that impression?
How much of the ground is permeable/impermeable?
What plant life is naturally occuring or planted? Is there older flora leftover from a previous use of the space? If so, what type and how old would you reckon it is?
What ecosystems can you identify (an ecosystem is a biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment)?

What wildlife: fauna, flora, lichen can you easily identify?
What plants or animals do you mostly see?
What is fenced in or fenced out? How do the fences make you feel?

The fact that moss grows on the concrete floor where nothing is supposed to grow is kind of interesting.

Moreover, this type of vegetation offers a humus layer to little plant and grass which can then grow on it !

5 fascinating species

Walking through the streets near the Bois de l'Etang, I managed to identify five species, two of them thanks to the Merlin Bird app, another two with the iNaturalist app, and one on my own. They were: Cardere Sauvage, Rose-ringed Parakeet, European Robin, Magpie, and a Raven. I loved going out and discovering these species.

Invisible balance

Trees naturally lose branches, which is like an open wound. With the help of insects and woodpeckers, this wound can become even larger. At the same time, these wounds become the future home of a species of bird. Without a doubt, everything works as an ecosystem, where one species' loss is another's GAIN.

Urban or rural walk??

This is an urban area, but it has been built around nature. In a way, you feel a certain “respect” for leaving space for wildlife.

Permeable | Nature-Based Solutions

It is an area where they try to maintain permeable zones. We see where nature-based solutions such as vegetative swales have been implemented to ensure infiltration and reduce runoff. On the other hand, it is a highly clayey area, so the risk of landslides is high.

While we were on this rural walk we got into a different world, uncommon plants appeared, the ground was so permeable, the smells were different, i started to see and hear birds that i didn't notice before, everything had a different aura, and the time reminds us that nothing can escape from him, and every plant and sensation in that walk was uniq. and everything around had the scars of time and weather.

I found interesting how the marked path is so grey and without life, because in fact, is useful and comfortable for us when we walk, but the rest of the untouched area retains its vegetation and on the top of that, it tries to take up space such as the fence

Why does this fence still need to be there? Wasn't the space between the structure and the plants already sufficient?

We wanted to plant it because it was pretty, so why keep it so far away from us?

The plants grow towards the sky, but the metal barriers are already well above them...

I saw this tree during our last walk. The trunk is broken and the tree looks hurt but it is still standing. It made me look at it for a moment and say what happened to this tree?

What is fascinating about this is how the branches of the tree are expanding and intertwine with each other making it look like a spider web
