What it does- The 13th Amendment grants all citizens the freedom to choose where, when, and how they work unless incarcerated which therefore revokes their 13th amendment right for the remainder of their sentence.

Historical Context- Passed during the Reconstruction Era, this amendment was passed along side the 14th and 15th amendment at later dates to abolish slavery. This amendment was the first step towards equality for the once enslaved, and now free.

Modern Implication: The 13th amendment has helped to create a more even ground for all citizens of the United States, allowing for people's to be more in control of their lives and choose their work ethic.

What does it do?- The 22nd Amendment is the law in which to make sure no president can serve more than two terms.

Historical Context- After 13 years of the USA having a democratic president, the Republicans won over majority with the senate and with the house. When Franklin Roosevelt broke the traditional outcome, the house succeeded with the 22nd amendment, back in 1947 to make sure no president can serve more than two terms. This amendment was ratified in 1951.

Modern Implication- This amendment has effected the president serve for ten years now. If a president is in office and serves less than 24 months, he can run again for two full year terms. Besides this, a person in office of president that is succeeding, can serve only four years.
