I made a video about why I started getting into stepping (Back in 9th grade.) I talked about how serious it is taken across the nation and the Devine 9. The Devine 9 are the 9 original sororities and fraternities in the nation. They are the basis of stepping. Below is a link of the Devine 9 website and a link to my video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtGuGOVfjt0

Today I spent a few hours watching videos on how to edit a YouTube video. It wasn't hard to sit there and watch the videos, But actually editing them was a whole new ball game. I only knew how to edit on iMovie, so these videos and apps really expanded my knowledge. I think there's a huge difference between the editing of my first video and the editing of my second. Below is the best video of all the ones I watched.

I googled and YouTube a bunch of different stances for step routines. A stance is the position you hold while you wait for the next part of the routine to start. There weren't any videos or websites I could find that alone broke down stances, but I did find/watch videos that incorporated the stances I taught in my video. Pay extra attention to the stances they hold in between positions.

Today's video was focused on transitioning during a step routine. Transitions are used to change the formation. I've been watching videos of different step shows to decide which transitions I will teach in my video. This video of FAMU's Delta Sigma Theta Sorority really caught my attention. Their transitions are so clean and posed.

I made a video breaking down a step routine I created. I think it would of been easier to teach it in person but it was still fun coming up with the routine. Overall I really enjoyed this project. I'm passionate about stepping and it was nice to b e able to use this craft in a different way. I feel like I picked up on some great editing skills and also got exposed to some dope performances. I would say the hardest part was the editing, because of how time consuming it was. Here's a link to my channel. Enjoy! *****For access to the youtube channel, please contact Rene directly
