As a senior in high school, I have had growing concerns about how the population of America is dealing with hate speech and trigger warnings. We have colleges canceling debates over someone getting their feelings hurt and even have some colleges listing the word “Trump” under hate speech. it's apparently something that needs to have a trigger warning on it before it's even spoken about. It’s like the first amendment isn’t even being respected anymore...

Is there a way to even fix this or are we just doomed to deal with adults in diapers for the rest of our lives? Where is America going in the future with this type of behavior?

This year I will cast my first vote. The impression that this intense election has left on me is one of deep concern for the state of politics in the country, and of how much unacceptable behavior we are willing to simply ignore or even justify. So, I wanted to know, considering how controversy-filled this election has been, uncovering very questionable, and in some cases criminal allegations against the candidates, how do you believe these accusations about each candidate's character may affect people's willingness to vote for their party's candidate, or to vote at all?

This week, polling that I’ve seen has shown Clinton in the lead by a more significant margin than we’ve seen recently.. As a resident of Colorado-a state which some believe could swing either way on Election Day-I’ve seen more opportunities to see advocates for both candidates come up in the last few days specifically. So, my question is whether the polls are actually indicative of the current American opinions (especially because this election is so polarizing)? How are the candidates and their campaigns strategizing using this data?

In last week’s Monday Mail, you talked about how polarizing this election season is. As a senior in high school, I find that this polarization unnerves and petrifies my peers and I from thinking about the political scene this year. I also find that almost everyone I talk to is so polarized by the national election that they aren’t concerned or educated about the very important local and state elections coming up in November. So, I’m wondering how local/state elections could be affected by the national polarization this year; could the polarization at the top of the ticket hurt voting on the bottom of the ticket?

Hello, my name is Chance. I am currently a High School Senior in Fort Collins, Colorado, and am fortunate enough to vote in this year's election. Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have extremely high disapproval ratings, the highest in a long time. Mr. Trump has a 60.9% unfavorable rating while Secretary Clinton has a 52.3% unfavorable rating, according to Real Clear Politics as of October 18th. So, why has neither party changed their Presidential Nominee to a more likeable and favored candidate?

Hi my name is Matt, I’m a senior in high school and this is the first election that I have ever payed attention to. It seems that both candidates choose to criticize the other person more, rather than explaining what good things they are going to do. Is negative criticism more effective than positive self-evaluation? And, does knowing that the majority of the voters don’t particularly like either candidate play a role in determining campaign strategies?

Hi my name is Noelle and I am a 17 year old that grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. Growing up in a college town, it's natural that even more people around here smoke cigarettes. Friends, family and many of the college students around town. Cigarettes are already expensive but now Amendment 72 would be adding a $1.72 tax per pack of cigarettes which would over time, greatly affect various families; especially those of low income. The commercials on TV say this is not only wrong, but would lock a huge blank check into the constitution. I was wondering where other blank checks have been spent in the past and how they have affected us as a country. I feel that if they can't tell us what the money is going towards then the money should NOT be brought into the government out of mine and others' pockets.

Hello, my name is Michal and I'm a senior in high school. This election is really the first election that I've paid close attention to and feel very passionate about. One thing I've noticed a lot is just how much I have to ask myself whether or not articles put out by a certain news source is biased towards one candidate or the other. I find myself being very weary of nearly every news outlet when it comes to election news because I want hard facts as opposed to opinions. While I agree there is a time and place for opinion based articles, news should be news and facts, not bias. What should we do about major news networks such as Fox and CNN pushing very obvious agendas that often obscure true news, if anything at all?

I am not able to vote this year, however if i was able to vote, I probably wouldn't want to unless there was a candidate that really got my attention and seems like a very good choice for the country. A lot of young adults that i know also don't have interest in voting this year and just voting in general. This population is a majority of my city, and many other cities around the states. If this trend increases for young adults all over the States, could it develop into a problem? and what could be done by candidates or media to get these young adults active in politics in the next election or even this election?

Issues surrounding immigration and reform are something that hits close to home for me as my stepfather is not from this country and for him to become legal it has been quite a process and expense for my family. I have been listening and reading about the candidates approaches to this and frankly I am concerned. The Democratic party wants to save Syrian refugees, pay for education and make them a part of America no questions asked. On the other side of this you have the Republican Party that wants to go to extreme measures and build a wall to keep them out and send everyone that is here illegally out, even if they are parents to legal children. So, my question is how are we going to find a balance between protecting American citizens and doing what is right for families?
