It offers a limited number of props and backgrounds, and a few styles of text boxes. These all give you the ability to piece together a story with the provided tools. While these features are all free, they do somewhat limit one’s choices due to lack of variety. I found myself struggling to find exactly what I wanted, and often when I searched the extra media box, I did not get the results I wanted. I feel that when one has a specific theme in mind, the best way to use this website is to already have one’s own images, then assemble the image and text on the website. There is also Add Voice feature that I personally think would be helpful in learning reading. The quizzes one makes are multiple choice, and all students usually take it simultaneously in the same classroom. The quiz is made beforehand, and by typing a code into Kahoot!, the students can use any internet-connected device to join into the quizzing. The questions are displayed usually on a projector, as well as a symbol that corresponds to the answer choices that students may select on their phone or laptop. The time it takes to answer a question and the number of questions answered correctly and are reflected in the scoreboard, which ranks the students and is displayed at the end of the quiz, creating a reward system for those that are naturally competitive. Kahoot! encourages participation through real-time competition.
