I feel that the enriched Virtual is a great way to give students ownership of learning. First it allows them access to all content; students will be able to self pace through the learning, which will help all learners. Additionally, it allows students to ask for help when they need it to fill in gaps, not when "teachers" decide they need help. Finally, it encourages peer collaboration and reciprocal teaching through activities, labs and assessments.

I really like the Enriched Virtual model. I think there are a ton of possibilities in terms of personalization (content, process, and product) and flexibility. Although I would like to change the title of my visual to "What do you want kids to do in a blended learning environment?" I hope that I can make this visual live in my classroom. I have been thinking a lot about connection and I think technology, when used appropriately, provides us with a great opportunity to connect. Through this model, it is my hope that students might successfully intervene in their worlds in meaningful ways. This model gives every student the opportunity to thrive regardless of their circumstance and I love that!

I really like the enriched model where students can work on the class on their own but still have teacher connection and direct learning. I think this gives ability to create personalized learning but also provides students connection with a teacher and their peers.

I will use a combination of enriched, station rotation and a flipped classroom. I honestly think that one model doesn't fit all of our students! Our students might respond to one model one week, and another model a different week. I want to ensure I am really hitting all of the different types of learning networks for them, which might require me to use a combination of these blended models. I am really excited to try and utilize station rotation in an online model. I think this could be interesting to see if I can make that work for my students. I think that by using multiple models our students will find more motivation for their own learning, and will find what truly works for them and their success. I want to make school as meaningful for them as possible.

I would choose the Enriched Virtual Model. This model offers students flexible, individualized learning at their own pace. They are able to access a variety of modalities, while continuing to have personalized instruction at their level. Students have the opportunity to connect with instructors and peers at the brick-and-mortar school for reinforcement, expansion or re-teaching. This model really encourages students to take an active role in their education.

Hi All,
I plan on using the Enriched Virtual Model within my setting. As a Special Education teacher this will be a wonderful way for my students to be able to complete the classroom material at their own pace. They will gave a greater opportunity to explore their own interests and demonstrate their strengths in more meaningful and efficient ways. By the students have access to in person supports, they will be able to receive their Special Education services both in person and online which will support the greatest success for different types of learners. The biggest focus for students on IEPs will be to help support their Executive Functioning skills as they transition in to the Enriched Virtual Model.

In my classroom, I would choose the Flex model. We currently use a combination of an open-entry, open-exit model. Students come in and out of classes as needed and as they complete others classes. Students enter our school with a variety of academic achievement levels from specific learning disabilities and low academic skill levels to highly gifted students many of which are in the same class or course. Because of our small size, most classes have multiple courses going concurrently in the same class room. On some of the specialty classes there may only be one or two students actively participating in the class at any point in time. Teachers act as facilitators assisting students with activities “as needed” to help the complete assignments and courses toward graduation.

I think that taking a "linear" lesson plan and switching it to horizontal where students are working on 3-4 parts in small groups could be very effective. At our school, we have a way of implementing this very well since each classroom has a full-time aide in it. It may be a great way to individualize instruction.

This allows a teacher to teach to the edges. It is a great way to individualize for all learners and it allows students to take responsibility for their own learning. It also opens up time for the teacher to spend more time working with students in small groups or individually. It allows students to do some collaboration, but maybe more importantly, I believe it will drive students to create and ask more intentional and in depth questions.

I can definitely see using the station rotation model for my classroom. I think it is a good way of combining technology without overdoing screen time. I also love the idea of making one of the stations a check in station with the teacher. This model not only allows for differentiation, it requires cooperative and collaborative learning. At the middle school and high school levels I would use the flipped classroom model with an addition to a bit of virtual blend. In preparation for 21st century learning I have notice most universities implement G+ within their structure. If given access to this within schools, students would be able to prep for this. It would also help with student and instructor collaboration; along with being able to work at their own pace, turning in work as needed. This will enhance instruction during class time , spinning off the virtual aspect of communities.

In a flipped classroom, I would create a short video lecture explaining to students when to use colons and semicolons. The following day, I would give students writing prompts on a forum where they had to respond using both colons and semicolons in the correct way. Students would then respond to their peers' posts and provide feedback on if they used the punctuation correctly.

The station rotation will work best for my current situation. In the attached video you will see a yellow carpet where one station meets, a blue trapezoid table where another one meets, a purple trapezoid table for a station, and a few desktop computers for the blended learning portion. We are hoping to be able to incorporate the use of a couple of Ipads as well. I chose this model due to my students being at a kinder level and needing consistency at this point. The station model allows for routine practice. I'm hoping later in the year to attempt to move to an individual rotation model.

Stations are already in place during our small group reading time. Students are able to practice skills using an adaptive program on their computer, Freckle, and then move to other small group activities to further practice. Another rotation in this set up is time with the teacher. This way students can be grouped according to need. Math Rotation Model:

Station 1-Teacher Led Lesson: Students will receive a teacher led grade level mini lesson using our Envision curriculum and the more traditional paper pencil approach. They will then be given independent practice questions to complete, with the teacher circulating and helping individual students when necessary.

Station 2- Online Lesson and Practice: Students will access an online, grade level lesson that aligns with the teacher lesson and is provided by the curriculum. They will then work on online practice problems with the help of online resources such as videos, and example problems.

Station 3-Individual Skills Practice: Students will use an online program/game called Prodigy to practice skills at their level. Students are tested and then given content based on their performance. Not only is this program highly engaging, but it also gives students a chance to work outside of the grade level content. This allows them to move ahead in some areas and to fill gaps in others.

I chose this model because I'm already implementing a rotation model during my math block and thought that I could expand upon this.

Students in PE need the Physical activity time to move> Having a flipped model allows students to watch a video, look up sports, etc ahead of time. Some students have never watched a sporting event or even know the skills used in a sport. Here I have attached a video clip of the Rockies so students can experience the sport ahead of the unit of baseball in PE. If throwing or batting is the skill we will practice in class, students can watch the video to understand the concept. Using other videos on the skill of batting, followed by a short question & answer session would also give me an idea of who needs more one on one support when they come to the regular PE class. Google classroom would be a great way to use this concept.

This is Erika Daly. Read Live uses flex learning in that students can choose which story they want to read and which topic they want to learn about. I can also have students from mulitple grades working in the same group at the same time since their accounts are individualized to meet their particular reading levels and needs. I have had students choose an exploration topic based from a Read Live story they read. That was really cool! Who would have thought a student would be intrigued by Thurgood Marshall! Yay!

We chose ala carte because it is learning anytime/anywhere.
Students can log into their on-line courses at school while attending face to face courses at the school.
For example, this works with math Envisions curriculum. Students can access the on-line videos that reteach the lessons taught by the teacher, while attending class. They are also able to access homework on-line. If they miss problems on the homework, they can visit the reteach video and retry the problems until they are successful. Plus they may also access the same resources while attending class (assuming the program and internet are working).

I love to implement Station Rotation Procedures: I love the collaborative opportunity with peers; how small group interactions back at the discussion table with me allows me to have intentional observations; We have convenient access to chromes/lab to provide spiral review for reinforcement (such as Kahoot games, Moby Max for language or math, etc). Blended learning would fit into each of these six styles of station rotation. When I think of station rotation, I normally think about the Multi-Station model. However, in reviewing each of these different station types, blended learning would lend itself nicely in supporting each of these.

The lab/station rotation would work best in my classroom. I chose the lab rotation because the curriculum that I am using contains online resources, which would mean that each student station needs to be working on their computers. I chose the station rotation because I could have each lab group working on a specific part of the curriculum. During these rotations the teacher would float between each group to help them with challenging material.

I chose this model because it shows that the students are rotating throughout different sections/parts of the lesson. I would have liked to find a model that showed the teacher floating and each station being a different part or specific lab curriculum.

My reading stations would have an online station that utilizes A-Z reading and Epic books, a book club station in which kids would read a book together and focus on depth and complexity thinking prompts to guide discussions, and the final group would be doing skill work with me.

For writing stations there would be the independent work station, author's chair and peer feedback station, and a station that would conference with me for feedback or skill work.

I chose the station rotation model because I believe it is a smooth transition into blended learning. I see one of the biggest benefits to this model as being that it allows for a rotation that utilizes technology, but still allows for students to interact with their classmates at other rotations, as well as giving students time for face to face interaction with the teacher. The station rotation model allows for a variety of exposure and practice with the content and would be organized as follows:
1. Teacher-led instruction station - at this station, the teacher will meet with ability-based small groups. The focus of this station is direct instruction of the reading target skills and strategies, vocabulary, and book discussion groups.
2. Collaborative activities station - at this station, students will work with their classmates in developing their understanding of the skills and strategies that were presented in the teacher-led instruction station.
3. Online station - at this station, students will work independently to develop their understanding of the skills and strategies that were presented in the teacher-led instruction station. Some of the online resources that will be used are Epic, Freckle, Spelling City, and Journeys.

In our intermediate reading intervention groups, we already have a rotation between teacher-led instruction in SIPPS and Read Live. Our students are behind their peers in sight word recognition, so we could have a collaboration station where they use LB techniques to quiz each other on individual sight word boxes.

As a Title I teacher, I support teachers with a rotational model in grades K-3 for reading instruction. There is typically a small group rotation that is teacher led, a computer based station for skill work like Read Live or Freckle, and an individual work time station that includes skill work or comprehension activites. I am sometimes included as a supported rotation usually to support skill work or fluency.

I currently use two of the facets of the model below for my Title I WIN (What I Need) groups for 3rd grade. I use direct instruction with a small group of 5-6 students using a multisyllable phonics system called SIPPS. The floater teacher currently monitors the online reading fluency program called Read Naturally Live. I could easily add a third station where students use a google definition site to look up the definitions of prefixes/suffixes that have meanings. They could also online games that use the meanings in different ways. I created a Kahoot matching game they could play to master the affixes.

I chose the rotation model for my classroom. In teaching English this works well when I assign writing projects. It allows students time to write their assignments, peer edit, revise, and check in with me at the end of the process.
1. I like to begin with teacher instruction and expectations. After students know what the expectations and goals of the lesson are I would direct them to the next station.
2. Students are allowed independent work with the aid of technology.
3. Students then get together with their collaboration partners and discuss their work and peer edit.
4. Students will then move back to independent work with technology.
5. Returning to teacher to check their work, ask any remaining questions, reteach if necessary, and complete assignment.

I chose the station rotation for my classroom. I already do something similar to this, so I decided to share what I do since it works so well. Students will be in their groups, and will complete at least two of the primary stations before they can move on and do the secondary stations. This allows for the groups of students to have some freedom in what order they will do the stations. It also allows for me to be walking around the classroom and making sure that the groups are staying focused and on the right track as they make their way through the various tasks that are asked of them.

I am the Special Education support for our online program. I love that we use Enrich and this is a wonderful way to use Blended Learning to customize the student's learning. It is a wonderful Enriched Virtual model. Students can work from anywhere but can also come into the lab for face to face support. We can customize their classes to do 1-2 at a time for a shorter time period or do 4 at a time for a longer time period. There is so many ways to accommodate my SPED students and give them the access without them looking any different from the rest of their peers. It also really helps some of our students that because of behaviors don't do well in the classroom setting. This takes all the social pressure off and gives them a space to just learn without all the distractions.

I chose the station rotation model because I already use this model in my kindergarten classroom to deliver small group reading instruction. The children are broke up into 5 leveled reading groups. They spend 10 minutes at each station. I will use a mix of the flex and a-le-cart where I will have 4 stations with list of assignments they will find on their one note. The students can choose which unit to complete and in what order. I will use a rotation station in my 4th grade classroom. In this lesson the students are learning how to identify plot in various forms. At each station they will complete a plot diagram. At station 1 they will choose from 4 pixar short videos that can be found on my class web page. At station two they will choose a picture book from a small basket of books. At the third rotation they will be working with me to label and identify the parts of a plot diagram. In this rotation i will be able to identify areas of weakness and strength with each student. We chose the Flex Model because, in our teaching situation where two of us share 45 students full time and our third partner is with us about a third of the time, this seemed like the most realistic model to implement at least, for now. A flipped model won't be realistic within the time frame we have at this point in the school year, and the models where students learn in their own time at home won't be realistic for us at this point, either.
Being able to lay out content through appropriate apps, research opportunities, skits and so on for individual application, along with required readings and a scheduled assessment is attractive for a classroom that includes learners of all ability and interest levels. I would like to implement the flipped classroom in an older elementary classroom setting (3 - 6 grade) and do this in one academic area to start (i.e. math). Having students learn the math concepts at home through selected video tutorials, online practice, etc. will teach them to have some independence and hopefully boost confidence in what they are capable of doing. They are able to watch the videos as many times as needed. Personally, I prefer to be in an environment where students are a buzz working with each other as I float from student to student or small group to small group. This allows for students to make their choice of how they enhance the learning the next day in the classroom. They may choose to work out kinks with one other student or a small group of them. I am most interested in trying the flipped classroom with my students. As a math teacher, providing the instruction in the form of a video for students to watch at home would open up time in class to tackle more challenging problems and projects. Students are able to learn at their own pace at home. pausing and/or replaying the video, and they would not have to rely on their notes or their memory to complete their homework problems. I also appreciate that students who are struggling to understand concepts will have more time in class to ask the teacher or their peers questions. I believe that the flipped classroom would work well in my middle school science classroom. The students and I are always trying to rush through certain content in order to get to the hands-on portions of the learning. As an Induction Specialist, I work with adults to provide PD that allows them to complete their Induction requirements. This past year we implemented a new offering for our new teachers by allowing them to select courses on Schoology to add to the PD we were doing monthly. Right now as we are in the midst of Covid 19 and trying to brainstorm options for next fall I am considering the Enriched Virtual model or a version of it. I don't know if this would have been my first choice prior to all of this happening but am thinking of it now in a different light. Face to face learning within a traditional schedule is not probably going to happen next fall so we need to think of innovative ways to open the building. Our school conducted a parent survey of what they would like to see and many parents wanted (or perhaps they need because of their own work schedule) students to have some in building school time. Maybe that could happen on some type of rotation across the building a couple of days a week and the rest of the classes are done online in a virtual setting.

I think this would be the best model to use in the classroom with preschoolers. We already have a fixed schedule and the classroom is set up with centers already. I would need to have a couple more devices to implement this the way I would like as I only have one computer and one tablet for the kids. Here is my thought on the station rotation model for preschool. One teacher would be doing direct instruction at the carpet. This could be be math, literacy or social emotional. Then the computer based station would also be "manned" by a teacher. In preschool, the children need support when it comes to technology use. Then the third station would be learning through play. I have used stations in the past but without technology. This was because it took me too long to get students logged onto the Chrome Books and truthfully, because it caused me much frustration!

Our school purchased ipads this summer, so now each student will have his/her own piece of technology. In the past I had lots of boring paper work at each center. This coming fall I want to use technology in one center (Seesaw lessons, or Lexia), have a teacher lead center focusing on student needs, and have an independent hands-on learning center. There will still be some paperwork, but not nearly as much. (I can almost hear the students cheering:)

The reason I chose this model correlates with the age I teach: kindergarteners. The Station Rotation model gives students short periods to work time, a variety of activities to hold their interest, and lots of movement. I also like the differentiation possibilities it allows in each station to help with individualized learning.

I love the idea of station rotations within the first grade classroom for so many reasons. First of all it the most familiar to me and something that I feel comfortable adjusting and implementing right away. My comfort level is there because it is manageable. Students can work with their peers, independently and with the teacher in small groups or individual as needed. Having up to 23/24 first graders in our classes it is important to seek out small group time so I have the opportunity to make connections with each child on a daily basis. I am excited to have to opportunity to add more technology into these rotations and filter out some of the worksheets or paper pencil activities.

Choosing just one model was a challenge. If schools open to some in class instruction, then I would use the Enriched Virtual model as a hybrid of at home and in class learning, however, if I hope for the best in that our kids are with us all day, I will use the Station Rotation.
The stations allow me to continue to meet with each child, whether it is daily or every other day, depending on the needs of the student. This will help clarify any misunderstandings or challenge the students more. Using the stations will allow for more differentiation for children. In the digital learning station, the students can work on the assigned lessons and then move on to lessons of his/her choice on the same topic. I would like to provide more problem solving, games, and project activities for one of the stations, which will give the practice that is needed in fun, hands on way. I can see myself implementing the rotation model into my classroom. First graders are busy, busy busy and need to move. This model allows students to do just that. In my classroom I would probably have four different stations. A computer station to be used for phonic / spelling. Under normal circumstances I would be supporting my teachers with implementing the rotation model because it would provide a balance between teacher led instruction, independent work, and collaborative work. However, based on current circumstances with COVID we are not able to have students share materials so this becomes more difficult. We may need to move towards a more individualized rotation at the elementary level.

At the secondary level, we are exploring a combination of things such as the flipped classroom. For example, if we are only able to have 50% of students at a time, the days students are not in school would be time for them to review lectures and do the readings. This would leave the in-person learning open for teachers to support students through assignments and be available face to face for questions.

I am interested in incorporating the station rotation model into my classroom. I like this model because students get to move around and not be stationary. They would be engaged in a computer station. I would also have a direct instruction station so I teach and focus on specific standards or topics. This would allow students to work on an online BL interaction site while students work at different stations geared toward skill-development. I like that each station has its own focus for students (i.e. Language Arts: 1. Discussion only, 2. Writing station, 3. Watch a video and having a discussion, and etc). However, if in-person instruction were to be interrupted the Flipped Classroom Model seems reasonable. It was very hard for me to pick one model that fit my position. I am a reading interventionist who delivers direct instruction to small groups of elementary students all day. I think I have decided on the flipped classroom. It will be difficult because of the age and I will need parental support but I can see some benefits of the students receiving direct instruction through videos online and then applying the skill with me. When choosing this model I am also thinking of the possibility of hybrid learning or all remote learning. I have always liked station rotation in my science classroom where students can apply learning in various ways and also see me for one to one instruction.

I would like to implement the Flex model more in my classroom, especially in ELA. I feel that my students enjoy being on the computer and that I can get more out of them by pushing out an assignment than by standing up and teaching at them the whole time. It gives me a chance to conference with students and make sure they are where they need to be and provide more meaningful feedback to them. it also allows them to take more responsibility of their learning.

I have found success in using the Station Rotation model within my classroom. Typically, I have a station with me, a station on technology, a station for word work, a station for writing, ad a station for reading during our literacy time. During math, I typically have a math practice station where students work on skills they need, a technology station, a station with me, and a math manipulative station. I love that I can create groups of students that have similar needs and be able to assign them a station that meets them at their level. I also love that the stations can be flexible, and the groups can be changed throughout the year based on student needs. - Anna Beauvais

I chose the station rotation model because I feel it will best address the needs of my 1st grade classroom. Having such a young student population can make it difficult to implement more technology based learning. My students are currently learning how to be self-motivated and I feel that the station rotation model will aid in that development. Thanks!

I enjoy implementing lab rotation in my classroom because I like the blend of small group discussion, movement, and different tasks that if offers the students.

Flex Model

I would implement the flex model because it would work in our current classroom environment without huge changes. It would be a good way to get started with blended learning and allow the students (and myself) to ease into more control and accountability for their own learning.

I chose this model because it best fits the age group that I teach. I believe young learners need time with their teacher, peers and begin to own their learning indpendently.

In special education, students have demonstrated already that they don't learn from traditional sit and gets. The flipped classroom with-in an A La Carte setting allows for students to get what they need through video or some other online platform and still get explanations and discussions with their tea

Enriched Virtual

I chose the enriched virtual model. Currently, my students attend virtual class via Google Meet once per week for 55 minutes. Students have the flexibility to work throughout the week on their various assignments. Freshmen and sophomores are required to come in to the building Monday afternoons for extra support. Juniors and seniors come in Thursday mornings. Any students who are failing or behind on their target percent complete are required to come in Friday afternoons to get support from classroom teachers. I chose this model because it is what I am currently practicing and seems to be a good fit for most of our students.

That Station Rotation would work best for my elementary setting. Some teachers have gotten away from rotations and how gone whole group. Many are realizing there are benefits to using rotations and are wanting to go back to it especially in the upper grades. This model works well with any subject area and fits easily into normal school hours/days. This is a nice blend of online, independent and center work.

I think the most applicable blended learning practice for music is station rotation. We can break up stations into: rhythm, melody/notes, and putting it together. A lot of learning in the music class has to come from hands-on learning. Music is rooted in repetition and it think station rotation would give the most opportunities for that.
