(Created by Henry Ford in 1913) Car production from 12 hours to 2 hours

The invention of the Moving Assembly Line was a huge benefit to workers in the automotive industry. The Moving Assembly Line was a line of men working to make items quickly and efficiently. It was unique because it was able to make so many items faster than ever before. The time to produce it decreased from 12 hours to 2 hours and the price for customers decreased. That also meant that the quality of the product decreased due to the fact that the quantity of the product increased. The idea was to subdivide assembly operations into a number of smaller tasks that are assigned to workers placed sequentially in a fixed order and the product is moved to one worker to the other by conveyor. This invention changed the industry forever because workers were able to stay in one place and assemble the products as a conveyor belt moved the pieces from station to station. It changed how most products were produced and it made production more rapid and increaced the volume produced. This made producing goods a lot more convienent.
(Kluwer Academic Publishers, 2000, p.3)

Journalists during the Progressive Era of the Industrial Revolution

Mukrakers were a major part in changing the trajectory of the work place during the Industrial Revolution. They were Journalists who captured meaningful, heartfelt, raw photographs of the working and living conditions of the men, women, and children during this time. They sought to expose the underlying problems within their society through their work. They did everything from writing to photograpy to art. Their vision was to garner attention and the sympathy of their viewers in order to inspire legislative action. If it weren't for them exposing the truth, maybe workers would have never been able to recieve equity and rights. Mukrakers gave voices to those who were not able to speak up for themselves, that's why they have had such a significant effect on our modern day economy. If not for their bravery to shine a light on injustices, workers could be living in a very different world right now.
USHISTORY.org, 2020, para 1).
