Gross pay is all the money you earn for working or getting bonuses. This is the pay that you get before any taxes are taken away. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I want to grow up to be a doctor. Lets say in 2027 i make a gross pay of $150,000. This is the money I make before any deductions are applied. "Deductions can be taken from your paycheck either before or after taxes are applied to your pay" (textbook page 14). Then, taxes are due and I lose about $20,000 in taxes. My Net Pay is then $130,000. Instead of making the $150,000 that I worked for, I make $20,000 less because tax deductions and federal/state taxes are applied to my paycheck. </div>]]></description>
