Students will split into groups to discuss what the general feeling may have been in the US after WW1, before returning to individually write on an index card some possible things that could've caused the Great Depression. Students that want to can also present their ideas.

Students will go around the room, looking at various sources provided by the teacher that detail some aspect of the Great Depression, from the Dust Bowl, to how unemployment affected personal lives, to the election of Franklin Roosevelt. They will then summarize what they learned in group discussion, before each group presents the most important or interesting thing they learned to the class.

After lecture, students will (on their own or in groups, with help of a textbook) list three of the events that occurred shortly before the Great Depression (ex. WW1, the formation of the League of Nations, America's retreat into isolationism), and explain why or why not these events played a role in the Great Depression.

For the week project, students will either write an essay or make a video or podcast that evaluates the question of what caused the Great Depression to end. Students will be asked to detail possible factors and explain what they think about those factors' impact on the Depression.
