Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta has confirmed to Business Insider that it will turn off its live shopping feature 'Live Shopping' on October 1, 2022. The focus was on developing a short video streaming feature called 'Reels' on Facebook instead of Instagram.<br><br>Launched in 2020, Facebook's 'Live Shopping' feature allows influencers and retailers to host live Facebook shopping events where they can invite their followers. Come see and choose to buy products.<br><br>The feature has also made it easy for event organizers to create their own playlists for shoppers to shop conveniently.<br><br>Meta said, “With today's consumer behavior that favors watching short videos, Instead, we turned our focus to Reels on Facebook and Instagram, which feature short video content of its own.”<br><br>“If you want to reach more people through video. And there is a new major competitor like TikTok that has come to pull users away.<br><br>Although the add-on profile is not required to specify the user's real name. But it will still be connected to the user's main profile. This requires users to operate in accordance with Facebook's policies, and any policy violations on one profile will affect the rest of the profiles.<br><br>However, this change will not affect how Meta's daily or monthly active users are calculated, which are reported through its financial reports.
